Great hotel in the city center of the medieval city Kastav. Great location with possibility for walk in the nature directly from the hotel. Very nice room, friendly staff, delicious food. Nothing to complain. A stay at Kukuriku hotel is a nice experience.

Located in an impressive building in the middle of charming old Kastav. If you drive, don’t use the hotel address on google maps – go to the centre of Kastav, and you will find easily your way from there. The design of the interior is full of quirkiness, with myriad of cockerel figurines and other pleasant and surprising details. The room/apartment was huge, the huge bed very comfortable, breath-taking views from the windows. The modern design sometimes overwhelmed the usability - the wonderful bath tube is very slippery, the washing basins are huge but the fixed tap makes them tricky to use, the electrical switches require a degree in electronics to be able to use them efficiently. I am picking straws now – we really enjoyed the stay and we would like to come back some day. The service was prompt and friendly. Very good breakfast and an excellent dinner with local and tasty dishes and drinks.

Staying at Kukuriku was really enjoyable. The chef (owner) produces fantastic food, staff are friendly and very efficient, rooms elegant and spacious, views fantastic, there's a lift for luggage, nice walks round about. There are two arrival options in a vehicle. The shortest route is via a narrow archway 200m from the hotel; with Google satnav, route to Kastav Pub and when you get there ring the hotel to have the bollard lowered so you can drive up the last two narrow streets. Otherwise, Google routes you to the hotel via 3 extra kilometers of unpaved track, where a camper or Hummer could be parked 100m from the hotel.

The hotel is really nice. I got the pleasure to stay on the suite and the room was huge. Small recommendations could be to fix the heating system on the toilet. A little complicated the access from the main Street. Restaurant really good and staff extremely friendly!

Kukuriku is in the old town of Kastav, and it’s a small boutique hotel. Rooms are spacious and well designed with mood lighting, tasteful modern decor and lots of room to spread out. It manages to be completely modern yet not cold or generic. Breakfast is included with the rate: meats, cheeses, fruit, yogurt, eggs made to order, and excellent coffee. An unexpected perk were the lovely nature trails around the town- three options of varying lengths and difficulties. Excellent way to work up an appetite for dinner or start the day. I highly recommend dinner at the restaurant as well; it’s a 5 or 7 course meal that will knock your socks off. The owner of the hotel is a fairly famous chef, and his set menu is excellent.
