This is just a review of a visit to the winery. We spent 7 days in this region of France and Riviere was by far our favorite Chateau to visit. Amazing tour, just breath taking property and chateau. This place is a wonderful place to tour but somewhat south of mediocre to taste. The tour of the wonderful quarry/ caves was special and makes the trip worthwhile. The caves were actually used by the French resistance during ww2 and you can actually feel that vibe in the caves. The wine tasting was not very good. We tasted the...

The Chateau de la Riviere is a large structure, reached via a very long driveway. There is a hotel complex in the old building, which has splendid views of the valley. This is a great place to stay. The rooms and very large and luxurious. Natalie, the woman that manages it cooks the most delicious breakfast each morning and the view of the vineyards below is absolutely breathtaking. This is a beautiful Chateau. Artistic Gourmet Adventures will be conducting their small group tours using this chateau as a base. The staff are wonderful and the food is delicious. Set among the vineyards.

Superlatives ends and to describe the castle other than heavenly is impossible. The staff makes us feel royal, the rooms fantastic everything to be perfect. The winecellar is magnificent, well worth a visit. the pool is cold but when it's hot, it's perfect.

You will definitely feel like a princess while bathing in that marble tub - the rooms are enormous, the beds are comfortable, and the views are absolutely amazing. You are about 45 min from downtown Bordeaux and from the Dordogne region. It's pefectly situated for touring the region. And, Nathalie is a wonderful hostess - you will love this place!...

We stayed at Chateau de la Riviere for 3 nights in May. We were there for a Bordeaux wine tour and Riviere was so beautiful and cozy.
