A belated review but a sincere one for a wonderful stay we had at Le Macassar in April. On arrival, behind wooden gates a warm welcome awaited us from Ian and Miguel - the perfect hosts. It was like staying in their home as friends and they did everything they could to ensure our stay was an enjoyable one, even... More

Last week a friend and I did a whirlwind tour of Northern France ending with a visit to The Somme and a commemoration service at Thiepval. We slept in 6 beds over 8 nights and Le Macassar was by far the most memorable accommodation. Ian and Miguel are the most accommodating of hosts; Ian is the night owl and will... More

My wife and I recently spent three nights in Le Macassar whilst we explored various WWI sites in the area. Behind an unassuming front door lies an oasis of peace, hospitality and excellence. The hotel is a real thing of beauty, reflecting the hosts' passion for Art Deco and every corner of it is both fascinating and stunning. My only... More

From the town square this hotel has an unprepossessing appearance. However, once inside the large wooden doors and into the courtyard it is a very different environment. Balconies overlook a small lawn and garden with a waterfall and shrubs, very peaceful and relaxing. The hosts are charming and after the initial welcome, sat with us sipping cocktails, informing us of... More

It's always a pleasure for us when guests take the time to write a review (so thank you) - rightly or wrongly we would prefer not to solicit them and we take on board each and every one of them where there are legitimately identified opportunities to improve what we do. We are sorry to hear that these guests found... More

Staying at Le Macassar was by far the highlight of the trip. It's in a great location for touring the Somme and WW1 battlefields as well as the surrounding towns. The B&B is by far one of the nicest I've stayed in. Its nicely decorated with an Art Deco theme and is comfortable and cozy. I wanted to stay and... More

3 nights in Le Macassar as part of our visit to the Somme WW1 battlefields which are close by. Great for Aussies as the Australian memorial is just 10 mins drive. The best B&B we have stayed in, Art Deco interiors with great attention to detail. However the highlight of the stay is the warmth of hosts Ian and Miguel,... More

First class B&B, from the excellent hosts, Ian and Miguel, through to the quality of the room and excellent breakfasts. The happy hours were a very nice touch!! Corbie is bit out of the way, but is a great hub for day trips.

This is a perfect location for exploring the lovely countryside and WW1 sites. Ian and Miguel know all there is to know about things to do and see, whatever your interests. All local foods for breakfast and very delicious.

As the unassuming door opens the experience begins. I won't spoil it by describing the Art Deco interiors, but feel assured you'll have a 'wow' moment when you walk into each room. This provides a great back drop for a stay in this area to explore the war sites and the many other things to do. We stayed 2 nights;... More

We stayed for several days in an upstairs room at the back (can't remember the name). It was an awesome experience. Our hosts were charming and helpful (friendly muppets also), welcoming us with what we understood was an afternoon glass of something nice to share whilst meeting the other guests and debriefing on the day's activities. The place is comfortable,... More
