Whilst travelling from Australia to attend the 100th Armistice commemoration it was my pleasure to spend a couple of nights at Le Macassar in Corbie. I still cannot believe my good fortune in discovering this incredible place. The location is ideal for those seeking a base from w

We had two nights at this lovely, Art Deco inspired, boutique hotel. The rooms were lovely, with very comfo table beds and modern, clean bathrooms. We were also the lucky recipients of an upgrade. Deborah and Gordon, the new owners, couldn't have been more welcoming and really ma

As part of a month travelling France we booked at Le Macassar being close to the WW1 Somme monuments/cemeteries. It was a wonderful four days stay. The new (well travelled) owners of Le Macassar were very welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. The accommodation itself was la

My family had three rooms at Le Macassar for two nights in August 2018 as we visited the battlefields in the Somme. We enjoyed the Duluxe Twin Room, Duluxe Double Room and the Empire Room.
Debra was a welcoming and generous host, with drinks and nibbles upon arrival. The garden

Thank you for your kind comments. We really enjoyed hosting you and your family! I am happy to hear that your experience was a memorable one. We are considering replacing or modifying the beds in the twin room. They are lovely antique bed frames but you are right, they are not necessarily suited to individuals who stand over 6 ft. tall. I apologise again for the issue with the internet. It was our first week running the business and there were a few things that required adjustments. We contacted our internet carrier and remedied the internet problem. We have also installed boosters throughout the house to ensure everyone can enjoy wifi both in the privacy of their room and in the public areas. I hope you will post pictures of your stay and highlight some of the points of interest you visited while you were in the Somme region. Warmest Regards, Deborah

We are looking at going to villier bretonneux for Anzac Day next year. Can you tell me how far it is from the accommodation to the service and the easiest way to get there for the dawn service. How much is this accommodation also
Le Macassar is in Corbie which in actual fact is closer to the main Australian memorial site than the town of Villers Bretonneux. This year the tourist board introduced a free shuttle service from outside the property to the memorial but the majority of our guests chose to walk there. If you search for and visit our website you will find our rates and a description of all of our rooms together with more information about the property and the area. If you have any more questions we're pleased to assist and will reply to all emails promptly. We look forward to welcoming you to Le Macassar.
