From coaching inn to luxury hotel Stuben, the small village rising just before the climb to the Arlberg Pass, is also known as 'the Emperor's biggest Stube' (Stube is a traditional Austrian common room). In fact, emperors and popes, princes and merchants, pilgrims and vagabonds, hemmers and wagoners appreciated Stuben as a rest station. It acted as a shelter protecting them from avalanches and storms. Similarily, the "Gasthaus zur Alten Post" was a beloved guesthouse in Stuben, and has been part of the area for centuries. Today the former coaching inn is run by the Brändle family. The APRÈS POST HOTEL is the ideal destination for anyone wanting a cosy yet exciting place to warm up in after a long day out and about on the mountains. After a hard day's work out on the mountains of the Arlberg, enjoy our APRÈS POST moments in four different room categories. We highly recommend the forty newly revamped Deluxe rooms and suites. There's something for everyone at the APRÈS POST HOTEL whether you visit as a couple, with your friends, or with your family.

Stopped for one night on my way from Austria to Switzerland, This is so much better than a UK Travelodge! I had looked around the preceding skiing villages of Zurs and Lech and they were absolute ghost towns in summer - no shops, no garages, no supermarkets open. By contrast Stuben was open and the Apres Post quite buzzy. Room large, very new and well kitted out Food was excellent Actually has a lift - majority of Swiss hotels don;t Very good value - I would stay again,

Six of us males stayed at the Albona part of the Hotel Post which is across the road but linked to the Post by an underground corridor. We like the idea of the Albona because effectively you get the Post facilities but at a lower cost. We last stayed at the Albona in 2010 and the Brandle family have done up the Post with style. Now Albona residents eat at the Post. The restaurant is beautiful and the food excellent. The outside terrace bar is a great facility. The sauna and outdoor pool have been designed excellently. Now to the skiing. Two new bubble lifts link Stuben to Zurs so the skiing is even more extensive than before. We were blessed with loads of new snow and for a day and a half out of three, blue skies. The Post reception staff are delightful and not only can you get your skis from the shop beneath the hotel but also the room key doubles up as the lift pass. The experience was accentuated by a comfortable train journey from Zurich Airport to St Anton and back. St Anton is a 15 minute taxi ride to Stuben. So we will be back and hopefully The Albona will stay as it is to keep our costs down!

We were lucky to get a last minute booking during ski week and called direct to get a better rate than what was on booking.com. Our room had a double bed and a sofa bed, which was perfect for what we needed. It was decorated in Tirol Alpine style and super clean. The food is amazing here. If you get half board, you will definitely not go hungry! The spa is also really nice. The outdoor pool is quite warm and the steam room was a perfect place to relax. Super close to the lift, which is a two person lift up the mountain. There, you can connect to the rest of Arlberg’s slopes.

The hotel is not bad but you would expect more proffesionalism for this money. The wifi did not work and although many of us complained, they kept saying it does work. Eventually they fixed it. The house keeping came into the room twice even if there was the sign of "do not disturb" on the door. It is a great idea to have your skipass on the roomkey but no one tells you that you have to validate it each morning at the reception... it's quite embarassing returning from the slopes and get it done...and go back again.

We stayed 14 night in august 2017 here and it was great! Very good breakfast, almost gourmet dinner, confortable bed, very good room separation and compartmentalization, large room, perfect heat/cool, great staff. It was one of the most beautiful holidays we had. Sauna and relax area were great. Awesome landscapes, great views, even from the room. Good beer, great open wines and a great selection of fines wines from different parts of the world, very good fresh honeycomb in every morning at breakfast, good natural tea, fresh fruits, milk, butter and fruit jam. Great selection of different assortments of bread. We will come back here for sure. From the hotel we have easily reached a lot of mountain trails, cable cabins and route bus.
