Lots of amazing decor and manicured beds, but essentials neglected. No in room drink making facility, a bath plug that leaked. It's like they think they can blind with eclectic items. Good breakfast range but beware, we got charged for breakfasts that we did not partake of and a room cost that was not what was quoted on booking.com. We...

From Calais we drove six hours to Saverne. The satnav recognised the exact location and we found the hotel easily. The room was comfortable and air conditioned. The whole place was spotless. We had a good meal in the restaurant and although the service seemed to be a little slow, we found the two waitresses friendly and extremely helpful, disregarding...

An old house on an estate in Alsace, Villa Katz stands out because of its garish appearance. The decor is mad, with artifacts everywhere. That's not to say that it isn't comfortable, it is. Our room was on the top floor reached by some steep stairs, not ideal for anyone with ANY mobility issues. The room was smallish but it...

An interesting hotel, with an eclectic mix of furnishings, pieces of art, etc. We had a warm welcome, a comfortable top floor room and a very good meal. The restaurant service was informal but the young somewhat inexperienced waiter was very willing and we enjoyed the evening. Excellent for an overnight stop on the way down to Italy

Well placed for a stop over between Calais and Austria. The owners were friendly and the hotel was full of French ornate antiques. Each room was individually appointed. The bed was very comfortable with lovely linen. The dinner in the evening was delicious and was freshly prepared by the owner. The breakfast was excellent too. I would recommend a trip...

The hotel is well placed between Calais and (in my case) Austria. The restaurant is ok if not remarkable but the breakfast is good. Overall, a bit tired and the faded charm is not always entirely genuine.

Stayed in the Hollandia Suite, large bedroom, bathroom and outside terrace all off an entrance hall to the suite on first floor. The building is a characterful design and a great change from corporate bland. Bed very comfortable and food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent. Dinner was not conventional Alsatian food which can be a bit stodgy but...

The rooms all had character (I saw two others), it's eclectic with art and furnishings from various eras. Breakfast was excellent. The hosts were lovely and very welcoming. It's easy to meet other travelers at breakfast or just stay in your own little space and prepare for your travels. I LOVED that the hotel wasn't in the center of town...

Lovely place to stay. Very friendly and solicitous welcome. Our room was smaller than on our last visit, but it did not matter. Clean, crisp linen, well-maintained room, spacious and verging on luxurious bathroom with fluffy towels bound in silk ribbon! The breakfast was as significant a reason for returning. This is still up with the very best breakfasts I...
