2023 Travelers' Choice Best of the Best
The Rodopoulos family, utilizing their 30-year expertise in the hospitality sector, has now created the Adrina Resort & Spa; a new 5 star compound on the island of Skopelos which combines all the natural beauty of this North Sporades hide-away with exquisite service and accommodation to provide an unparalleled experience. The location is objectively magnificent and the 38 room/villa complex is set along the natural curve of Panormos bay. All of the accommodation offers spectacular beach views of the Cove of Blo and across the Aegean Sea all the way to Northern Evia. Initially, the guest will be mesmerized by the majestic views only to discover that the rooms and facilities are just a few meters from one of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Whether relaxing by the salt water pool, swimming in the incredibly clear blue sea, dining at the Restaurant, having a drink at the beachfront club or being pampered in the Day Spa, we ensure that even the most demanding guest’s total needs are catered for.

Going on a fun family vacation! We went there and had a great time. The people who worked there were really nice and helpful. Our room was spacious and the staff was amazing. The room and the rest of the hotel were really clean. The bed in our room was big and comfy. The breakfast was really yummy and the buffet was plenty of things!

Our recent stay at this hotel left us with mixed feelings. While there were some positives to highlight, a particularly unpleasant encounter with the management tarnished what could have been an enjoyable holiday. Firstly, the view and location of the hotel were very pretty. The majority of the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. One standout feature of the hotel was the breakfast, offering a variety of delicious options that left us satisfied and energized for the day ahead. We truly appreciated the effort put into the breakfast service. Unfortunatelly we encountered unexpected issues due to bad weather during the first few days. These circumstances rendered several of the hotel's amenities inaccessible, including TV, internet, the pool, the seaside area, and the spa. In light of these inconveniences, we decided to inquire about the possibility of a discount or compensation, as hotel policies regarding this matter can vary. Our intention was to discuss the matter politely and understand the hotel's policies better. Regrettably, our encounter with the manager was nothing short of a nightmare. He was incredibly rude and dismissive, trying to make us feel guilty for even asking. He tried to make us feel as if we were somehow responsible for the tragedies in Volos. His aggressive outburst was witnessed by other guests, leaving us deeply shocked and disappointed. It's essential to note that we did not demand any unreasonable concessions; we simply hoped for a courteous response to our request. We would have accepted a simple »no«. Such a hostile reaction from the management is unacceptable, especially given the premium prices charged for the rooms. To add to our disappointment, the quality of the food (lunch and dinner) was subpar and overpriced for the portions provided. This was in stark contrast to our previous experience at the hotel, which used to be a 5-star experience, but sadly, that is no longer the case. Our hearts go out to the people affected by the floods in Greece, but still this is certainly not an acceptable way to treat anyone.

Response from Paikos Rodopoulos, Owner at Adrina Resort & Spa
Responded Sep 17, 2023
THIS REVIEW IS UN-AC-CEPT-A-BLE!!! WE ARE ALL TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED AND UPSET ABOUT THE REVIEW AND HOPE THAT SIMILAR REVIEWS AFTER SUCH UNIQUE NATURAL DISASTERS WHERE SO MANY PEOPLE DIED WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED ON TRIPADVISOR. WE HAVE TO SAY THAT WE EXPECTED THIS COUPLE TO MAKE A REALLY BAD REVIEW! My name is Yannos Rodopoulos and I am one of the owners and the manager of the family hotel business. The review of the guest is not about our hotel but about my behaviour towards them. I believe that this review shouldn’t be anonymous since it is referring to a specific person, me and violates TripAdvisor's guidelines. There are witnesses who can confirm that I was not rude! Almost 50% of our guests are repeaters and they know me very well. They all know that I am never rude! Volos and the island of Skiathos were destroyed by the famous storm Daniel. All the infrastructure of Skopelos is supported by these two points and we had really bad days over here during the storm. Our hotel was fully booked and no one, but no one! asked for anything even though everyone faced the same problems with the reviewer. All clients knew and understood what was happening! IT WASN'T OUR FAULT WE GOT HIT BY THE STORM IT WASN'T OUR FAULT WE DIDN'T HAVE INTERNET - THE WHOLE ISLAND DIDN'T HAVE INTERNET - IT DIDN'T EVEN HAVE 4G IT WASN'T OUR FAULT THAT THE TV SIGNAL HAD FEW INTERRUPTIONS. Volos and Skiathos were left without power, water and internet for 4-5 days and still to this day they are repairing their damage and it will take a lot more time until this storm is forgotten. Many will never forget it. Visitors were aware of the damages/problems caused by the storm that hit us. We informed them during their stay. They even informed me that their country, Slovenia, had also been hit by the storm. Yes, the hotel amenities could not be visited. It was raining, blowing, it was cold and no one could go to the beach, pool and beach bar. Only the restaurant and spa were open. The spa on those days was fully booked contrary to the claims of the guests. Appointments and sales of these days are available for everyone. Of course, we all know that the reviewer did not just «inquire about the possibility of a discount or compensation». After receiving the receptionist's response which was a clear NO (discount), they asked to see the manager because they wanted to cause a problem for us. The guest forgot to write that the first thing I told them is that I understand why they are asking for the discount and they can tell me what amount is the discount they want us to give them and we will give it to them. Whatever it was! I told them that because It's not a matter of money. I asked them to explain to me if they understood what had happened in Greece and Thessaly and why we were responsible for that. Of course, there was NO answer. And yet for them, IT WAS ALL ABOUT MONEY!!! They confirm it in their text twice «We decided to inquire about the possibility of a discount or compensation» «Such a hostile reaction from the management is unacceptable, especially given the premium prices charged for the rooms» During the storm, WE REFUNDED ALLl!!! guests who cancelled their reservation and we DIDN'T CHARGE CANCELLATION FEES also to those guests who decided to leave earlier and, believe us there were many!!! They had serious reasons - not that the internet was not working during the storm days. The nightmare was not experienced by them, nor by us, nor by Adrina, nor by Skopelos... Skiathos, Volos, and Karditsa are still living the nightmare. We are all totally disappointed and upset about the review and hope that similar reviews after such natural disasters where so many people died will not be published on Tripadvisor. Best Regards, Yannos Rodopoulos CEO ADRINA HOTELS

This was wonderful week at Adrina 🤩 The view from the room was beautiful, the beach was perfect and not crowded. We had the opportunity to do snorkeling and see many fishes. The breakfast was diversified and excellent, the diners too at the restaurant and especially at the taverna at Adrina beach where Filippos was a funny and dedicated host 👍 All employees were very nice and helpful with every subject. We hope to come again someday 😀

We booked a private pool villa fairly last minute (4 days before) and were advised they only had availability in the villas that hadn't had their outside landscaping finished (missing trees and plants but otherwise fully functional) which we were perfectly fine with and were given a small discount for. The room itself is nice, if a bit basic for 5* No coffee machine, just black tea bags and sachet instant nespresso, chipped water glasses. Slippers but no bathrobes, minimal amenities - one bottle of body lotion and pack of cotton pads for 2 people... No menus for anything in the room - rooms service, spa, acitivites etc - called reception and was given a website url to access the room service menu however it only had food, no drinks so we had to go to the pool bar to take pictures of all the drinks menus.. They had a detox / smoothie menu at the pool bar however we were told they didn't have any of them available, only juices. Ordered an apple juice which came as a pureed apple in a glass, with the skin, completely undrinkable No pool towels provided, told at check in we had to collect them and drop them off at the beach - weird considering we were in a pool villa. (However housekeeping did actually bring us clean pool towels to the room when we asked) No minibar, just a couple of empty fridges (although two mini bottles of wine and water were provided) Plug sockets in the bedroom are positioned directly above the pillows on the headboard so you can't plug stuff in and sit up in bed. Some of the room service food and drink was certainly not 5* (room service is ordered from the restaurant). Octopus with giant beans smelt extremely fishy and was very very dry with no delicious sauce you usually find with giant beans Green beans and beetroot salad was a giant pile of very overcooked green beans on top of a few slithers of beetroot. Tzatziki was delicious however comes with three very small rock hard toasts - the extra pita we ordered to have with it the second time though was very good. Requested an iron and ironing board and housekeeping brought a tiny Ikea tabletop ironing board and a broken iron.. Housekeeping knocked and also just walked in once when the DND was on... The good parts!...although I feel most of these are very basic things for a 5* hotel Staff are all very friendly and helpful - front desk service is 5* Pool area is excellent and loungers are extremely big and comfortable Air con in the rooms is very good Beds are very comfortable Simple food we ordered - pasta, souvlaki, baklava etc were all very good Call buttons on the sunbed umbrellas by the beach are a nice touch Location is good if you have a car - close to great beaches and panormous for a few tavernas and boat hire etc Views are stunning Funicular is a nice touch as the hotel is very steep All in all very average, felt like a budget aparthotel at times and considering we paid 400EUR a night we left feeling a bit ripped off, which is a shame as the hotel and views are stunning.

Response from Paikos Rodopoulos, Owner at Adrina Resort & Spa
Responded Sep 7, 2023
Good evening. You are right about most of what you wrote. You have not given us any opportunity to correct 99% of them. We will repeat the question we write all the time in some similar review: Why do you prefer not to report your problems during your stay and let us help you as best we can? Why do you prefer to spoil your holiday? You were informed that you would be staying at our NEW hotel under trial/construction which you knew there would be problems in the surroundings and that the rooms would just be functional. You were also informed that you would be able to use parts of our 5* hotel because none of the parts of the new unit would be ready. The price of the two-storey villa with pool at our 5* hotel Adrina Resort & Spa which is in full operation is 985,00 per night. So the expression "ripped off" for a villa in a magnificent location, in one of the best spots you could find nationwide, for which you basically knew exactly what to expect is NOT AT ALL ACCEPTABLE. We would love to have you with us next year to experience our fully functional villa and then judge us.

I had the luck to revisit Skopelos island together with my family and friends after 30+ years and to stay at Adrina resort. The island has retained its pristine landscape with pine forests reaching the sea and some of the most scenic beaches in the Aegean. Not by chance, a couple of them were chosen as a setting for the Mamma Mia musical film. Adrina beach hotel and resort is undoubtedly the best way to experience the island nowadays. Situated on one of the island’s most scenic locations, it was developped during the years under the vision and the personal care of Rodopoulos family with attention to every detail and respect to this unique place. Adrina’s experience is all about relaxing and enjoying the beach life, being treated as family by a unique well trained personnel, enjoying the modern comforts of its rooms and villas - I enjoyed my best sleeps of the year there-. and savouring local specialties at its seaside restaurants. Besides, kids can experience complete freedom as nowhere else. In sum, a place once visited you would love to return to again as if it were your homeland.
