I found the dark room bathroom and had nowhere to hang the towel. The shower was in the bathtub, which would not be necessary considering the size of the room.
Water, coffee and courtesy tea in the room.
In the heated pool tbm had water and courtesy apple.
Quiet place, good to rest.
For our first meal, we were charged different price to what is on the menu - they made us a simple risotto and a pasta dish (as vegetarians), we had no alcohol and our bill was c.£100 - so be aware.
We had the same room type we had previously (a skyview suite) which is a really nice room. Private and spacious. However it looked as if absolutely nothing had been done to it since it was built. The microwave didn't work, bulbs were burned out, paint chipped, furniture worn, etc. etc.
At the same time there is a lot of active construction going on to build even more accommodation units. Maybe they should look at upgrading the existing before embarking on new ones.
From a staff perspective, the front desk/concierge staff were outstanding, as was the sommelier. The poor housekeepers were so overworked one even tried to provide turndown service at 9:45 pm when we were already in bed. We felt so sorry for her. The food and beverage operations were either badly understaffed (Viajante at the Pool) or disorganized and disinterested in the dining room. Food quality ranged from poor at breakfast to acceptable at dinner. This is compounded by the fact that prices are at a Michelin Star level or beyond. The room service charge alone is $22 CDN. Outrageous. We understand the global labour issues, but other five stars have figured it out. We won't return until the owners hire professional hotel operators.

The positive, the property and accommodations are generally nice, well appointed and can give you a feeling of luxury. The main building in particular is gorgeous.
The reality however is that everything else is pretty much lacking. Service is terrible, everything is poorly maintained, several things are not well thought out like the private pool being disgustingly dirty in our villa.
The restaurant at this property was by far the single worst dining experience we had in our entire Portugal trip. It was comically bad, the food was absolutely terrible, the servers had no clue what do do and finally it was so overpriced we could only laugh about it. We initially had reservations for both nights and we cancelled the second night to just have cheese and charcuterie in our room...
The property overall seems to be in construction so there was also early construction work near our room. At night, there are no lights so if you are trying to find your way back to your villa from the main building, be prepared for some adventure...
So lots of potential here to be honest but it seems to be poorly managed with staff that don't care and management that doesn't get what luxury mean. We will not return.
The architecture and design of the buildings as well as the interior is absolutely stunning. The public spaces and the rooms are beautiful and comfortable. We had a room for four adults with two bedrooms and a large living room area with a big terrace and a fireplace.
The restaurant was great and there even the service was good. Breakfast was delicious yet service was quite inconsistent which again implies to staff that were surely trying their best but again, it lacked consistency.
However, any other service, cleanliness of the pool, towels, sun loungers and room service were absolutely horrible. It was clear that the staff were doing their parts, each their own specific tasks and nobody oversaw the big picture so it just felt sloppy. It took an hour and a half to get dinner from room service and two hours to get the fireplace lit, among a long list of other things.
A note to management - train your staff to meet international hospitality standards and make sure everything runs smoothly instead of relying on a pretty facade.
Here you basically pay for the nice architecture and design, don't expect this hotel to meet any international luxury hotel standards. Most mid-range hotels are more professional than this one, unfortunately.
In addition to the facilities thought to the detail, the employees are helpful, attentive and professional improving the entire experience! I retain the quality of the products as a whole! The personal care products available are amazing.
When it comes to food and beverages, L’ and presents its customers with an unparalleled variety and quality. I highlight the incredible breakfast at the disposal of all guests with fresh and regional products of the highest quality. I can't help but mention the Dining Dinner at the Restaurant Map that takes us on an incredible journey of flavors through the talent of Chef David Jesus led in the room by Luis Mira who accompanies the service with a delicious explanation about the flavors presented.
It is no doubt to go back...I recommend the sky view suite because seeing the stars in the Alentejo sky is magical!
I will start with positives: very clean resort, nice vibe, nice big suites, a nice welcome with a wine and fresh squished orange juice, great breakfast, nice pool and small lake with paddles.
Two small negatives that we experienced: our suite was 30 minutes late then the check in time and as we had a long trip from Spain we really needed it in time. Also the pool towels were not available for an hour, we have asked , waited for a long time and then I needed to go and ask once again in a more „demanding” way that I do not like, however then it took 3 minutes to get the towels. It is always nicer if you can sort those things effectively.
Besides those two small issues, a hotel that I would really recommend.
