We have booked 2 nights with New Year's Eve (30 & 31 December) checkout 1 January and New Year's Eve dinner. The hotel looked beautiful and nicely decorated. The room was nice and spacious with bathroom with bathtub and shower. Also ensuite a toilet. The dinner was fantastic, fun performances and theme was Willy Wonka. In the morning 2 breakfast buffets experienced and everything was very well taken care of. What was also very thoughtful is that we received a chocolate package at check-out. The staff was very professional and friendly. Why not 5 reviews? Although a lot went well, it was still a bit the small dots on the i's that could have been better: 1. wifi did not work properly immediately. After calling reception it turned out that a code should have been passed on (you've been messing around for half an hour) 2. 3x called by reception asking if we really had enough of everything for those 2 days (coffee, tea, water, towels etc.) we had just indicated that we wanted to rest and not be disturbed. But in the end it was only kindness from the hotel 3. It was indicated to us that we could get a lift by car to the party location on site on 31 Dec. Was actually not necessary given the distance but taken anyway. We were clearly in party clothes and were dropped off at the back of the complex by the kitchen. So we search and arrived at party through the kitchen and staff entrance. has also all worked out well, but very strange state of affairs and the host at the party also thought 4. 1.5 hours after checking out the next day, we were charged another lunch on our credit card which we clearly had not used. Someone had given us our room number and last name. Fortunately we were able to prove this, but how does someone know our room number in combination with our surname....? But despite these 4 points still had a nice stay and everyone recommended if you are in the area during the holidays (and also outside the holidays)

I am currently staying 5 nights at the beautiful Pengha Longha Resort in Portugal; the executive suite, room 302. The rooms generally are funished with a lovely mix of traditional and modern touches, and offer plenty of dual aspect light with large windows. Our bed was plush with plenty of pillows, although for us personally,these were more for decor than practically as for us, we had to request 'lower' ones so that we didn't find ourselves with a crooked neck in the morning! The hotel staff kindly accommodated our request without hesitation. Aside, the hotel grounds are stunning and very well maintainedand have the added feature of the monastery which we would recommend anyone to visit as this is only a short walk from the main entrance The view from our room and most rooms are superb; overlooking the golf course or an abundance of rolling hills and lush vegetation. Facilities at the hotel are second to none, and include an infinity pool (adults only) and the addition of the main outdoor pool, plus an indoor pool and spa facilities. Access to golf buggys, to explore the extensive grounds was great, despite us not being golfers and cost approx 30 euros per hour. The hotel also offers mountain bikes for their guests to also explore which is recommended if you want to get away from the main hotel for a few hours. If you have children, Pengha Longha provides a well stocked games room and soft play area to entertain young and old and my wife and I tried our hand at table tennis which was great fun and nostalgic. Breakfast offers a wonderful selection of fruit, baked goods, drinks and hot options and staff are attentive. Room service is also fabulous with generous portions which is always a plus. I would like to say a special thank you to the breakfast manager Katarina who made my wife and I feel very welcome every morning during our stay, along with a further thanks to the hotel front Desk supervisor Margarita Topa who was extremely helpful and was on hand to swiftly resolve and address our needs. I have been going to Penha Longa for 10 consecutive years now and consider it one of the best customer experiences I have ever been able to enjoy. Staff is so kind and helpful, and there has been very limited turnover among the key people, be it at the front desk, the pool spa, the restaurants and last but not least the golf academy and the caddie master team. The same applies to the cleaning ladies, the kind Judite has been greeting me with a smile for years. When my daughter was 7, she said: "please ask Google which is the best hotel in the world, and I am sure this one will pop up first". My husband and I stayed here for seven nights over New Year’s. While the hotel’s beautiful grounds and excellent spa made a strong impression, several aspects of our stay fell short of expectations.
At check-in, we were informed that we couldn’t upgrade our room due to booking under a corporate rate, despite being Bonvoy Gold members. While this was disappointing, we appreciated being allowed to check in early.
Unfortunately, our room had thin walls, and we could clearly hear conversations from adjacent rooms throughout our stay. Additionally, when I first used the bathtub faucet, yellowish-brown water ran for about 15–20 seconds, suggesting it hadn’t been used in some time.
Dining was another area of frustration. Reservations made through the Bonvoy app didn’t guarantee smooth experiences. On one occasion, we waited 45 minutes for a table despite having a reservation, and by the time we were seated, several menu items were unavailable.
That said, this hotel is an excellent choice for families with young children. They go above and beyond to keep kids entertained during the holiday season. However, if you’re seeking a quieter, child-free experience, you may want to consider other options.

Overall resort experience was great. However, one of the boutique shop that sells Hugo Boss was one of the worst shopping experience we had. Once you buy clothes from there and you can't exchange nor return there or any other Hugo Boss shops. They put small paper saying no exchange or refund in a corner in a small storage/fitting room. And the owner tries to upsell her husband's restaurant nearby when asking for food recommendation. Extremely discomforting experience with the owner with only making profits in mind with no intention of helping guests/customers.

Disappointing Stay – Overpriced and Poorly Managed
I had high expectations for this hotel, but unfortunately, it turned out to be a huge letdown. The prices are way too high for what you actually get. The bathrooms are outdated, there’s barely any space for clothes, and they only have one elevator for an entire block of rooms – expect long waits.
The sauna situation is a joke—you get kicked out two minutes before closing, but if you show up early, it’s not even working. The gym is extremely basic, which is surprising for a golf hotel that should cater to athletes.
Food and drinks? Ridiculously overpriced. It’s so bad that guests are actually ordering Uber Eats instead. And if you use your credit card, watch out for their sneaky exchange rate tricks—they try to overcharge you.
It’s clear that this place is just after your money, with little regard for guest experience. Save yourself the frustration and stay elsewhere, where you get more value for your money.

Unfortunately for us we did not enjoy our stay at this resort, the staff was good but the room were not what I expected. My room number was 222, I arrived and quickly walked out in the terrace to fine bird poop on the hand rails, table, and chair. Looked like it wasnt clean in weeks. I walked into the bathroom and the amount of mildew was unaccepatable, I called the reception and they promise to send someone to clean the shower area, they did not and on the folowing day I called again and someone did show up to clean the area. They did provide a decent cleaning but there was still several other areas with Mildew. I rate the hotel as a 3.5 star lobby and a 1 star room.

Beautiful gardens, charming golf course and a resort for everyone! We stayed for 4 nights and had the joyful culinary experience at Midori and lunch at Lab. The chef and crew at Midori well earned their Michelin star, some dishes are reimagined (in a good way) and carefully executed. The Lab was no different, I enjoyed the rice dish (more like pasta) (something with pancetta) for sharing and absolutely ‘worth the wait’ apple pie. It’s a huge hotel, with a club house for tennis, horse riding etc. and a busy golf course at the time we visited. Beautiful course, despite the on-going repairs we enjoyed it very much! The downside of an absolutely huge hotel also comes with the fact that you might run into kinks about check out times, even if you’re a Marriott Platinum loyalist, which is unfortunate way to end an otherwise very pleasant and restorative stay. For me, the hidden gem is the chapel on premise - its jaw dropping gorgeous! If you twist my arm, I would certainly return :p

1. The staff attitude is the worst I have ever seen in a 5 Star property. 2. The staff are not properly trained Some examples: 1. Every time the room is cleaned, there is a new problem which I have to sort out. Today, they took away the used bath towels and did not put fresh ones. Yesterday I had asked for some tea cups. Funnily, there were no Empty Tea Cups in the room though there was a kettle and a coffee maker. Today morning the Housekeeping took them away. To add to my misery, when I asked the house keeping to send two empty tea cups, they asked me to contact room service. At any other Hotel, the department I had contacted would pass on the message to the concerned department. Going one step further, there was no button for room service on my phone, so I dialled in room dining- they were generous enough to send me two tea cups.
I was here on a conference and had informed the sponsors and the Hotel well in advance that I am a Vegan. Even if there is no prior intimation, I see that every Five Star Hotel Globally does keep Vegan choices. At today's lunch organized at the hotel, surprisingly there was no single Vegan dish.
One more- The Hotel serves a flute of Orange Juice at Breakfast table. Since there was no space, I joined another person sitting at a table. When I asked for my orange juice, the server curtly replied that there can be only one flute between two persons. That meant- if the other person on the table drinks the orange juice served to him, I do not get to have it!

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Everything was beautifully maintained, and the staff truly went above and beyond. We were in town for a work conference, so most of our time was spent within the hotel, but it was a fantastic experience. The food was excellent, and the bed was incredibly comfortable, making our stay even better. A special shoutout to Sandip, who brought us room service several times – his warm and friendly attitude made each interaction a delight!
