Excellent fishing. Sometimes the walleye are fighting each other to take your bait. We have visited the Outpost five times and have had everything your could ask for in a remote quiet relaxing vacation. One of the best recent innovations is the rod and reel rental. No longer are you risking your tackle with the airlines, our rental equipment were quality St. Croix rods with excellent reels. This is one of the best father son, boys outings you can find.
We first started going to the Cobham Lodge about 20 years ago. The fishing and customer service at the lodge have been excellent during every trip. Great shore lunches. Caught 2 Northern this year over 42” and too many walleye to even count! All six of us caught large Pike with the biggest being 43.5”. It is a long trip from Florida, but worth the travel if you want a remote fishing lodge and great fishing. Located about 250 miles north of Winnipeg. New boats w 20 HP motors makes for quick and easy moving around.
Exceptional value in a remote, full-service, fly-in fishing lodge. Most important, the size and numbers of fish we caught were outstanding. Two Manitoba Master Angler pike and many in the 32" - 40" range. Too many axe- and hammer-handles to count. Loads of walleye for shore lunches. The staff, including the lodge personnel and the fishing guides (optional), are warm, welcoming, good at what they do and are a pleasure to engage with. Accommodations are clean and comfortable. Food was good and beyond plentiful. Boats and motors perform flawlessly and are well-suited for handling the extensive range of bays and river sections that comprise the Cobham River system. Worth the extra $ to fly from St. Andrews airport. Will definitely be returning to Cobham River Lodge.
Spent another 5 fantastic days of northern pike fishing in Manitoba Canada at Cobham River Lodge. Our group of 6 totaled out at 14 northern pike 40 inches long or greater! Add in a few hours of great walleye fishing and we had another great year. Only complaint I have is that my arms and shoulders got sore and tired from hauling in so many fish. Had shore lunch every day and that just added to the experience. Can't wait to go back next year!
Fished Cobham River Lodge 22 years ago with my son and was able to return in 2019 with a friend. The lodge and staff were as good as I remembered. The food was awesome and shore lunches are great way to relax in the middle of the day. And the fishing, by the end of out 5 day stay I had 7 fish over 40 inches and to many to count in the 35 - 40 inch range. Booked for 2020, but with COVID had to transfer to 2021. Deposit transfer went flawless. Thanks to all the staff at Cobham River for a great adventure, it is the prefect Manitoba fishing lodge.
I love Cobham River Lodge. My dad and I have gone up to the lodge for the last 11 years bringing, clients, vendors, friends and family. The fishing is phenomenal, the food delicious and the lodging and staff are top notch! If you want to have a fishing experience of a lifetime, Cobham River Lodge is a notch on your bucket list!
We had an incredible time at Cobham River lodge and fishing the Cobham River while we were there the first week in August. It was a relaxing and enjoyable experience all the way around. Cobham River Lodge is totally a first-class operation!! The lodge being tucked into the forest was beautiful, the food was outstanding, and the staff was wonderful!! You made our time there feel like we were visiting family! You took such good care of us, and the other folks we met there were the best. We had such a good time fishing, and it was extremely cool to watch the pike swimming up to take the our surface baits. The scenery on the river was breath-taking and the Cobham River was in the most beautiful place we’ve ever fished. Thank you for the thought and effort you both put into making our first trip to Manitoba an awesome and relaxing experience. It was really hard to leave on our last day there, but as we flew off, we agreed, we HAVE TO COME BACK next year!!…
Seven fishing buddies and I spent 5 days at Cobham River Lodge in June, 2019. And WOW is all I can say. These folks are the real deal. The food was fantastic, the lodge was clean and comfortable, the staff members went the extra mile. The fishing... Out of this world. 5 of us caught a 45 inch plus Northern Pike, which is a first for our group after fishing Canada for 26 years. Watching a giant northern pike break the surface is a sight to be seen, and what an adrenalin rush. This is an experience you do not want to miss! Thanks to Covid, we had to transfer our 2020 trip to 2021. Reservation and deposit transfer went flawless with no issues for our group.
2020 has been a tough year for lodges and Cobham is no exception. We booked our trip in the fall and paid a $2700 deposit. When the government canceled the season they were the only lodge, out of 16 contacted, that did not either refund the deposit or credit it towards next year.
Whoever said "Disney is the happiest place on earth" was obviously not a fisherman nor have they ever been to Cobham River Lodge. Fishing the Cobham River is an outstanding outdoor experience! Having said that, there are a few things that are not present at this retreat such as excessive pleasure boat traffic, crowded launch ramps, jet skiers, too many fishermen, etc. What's available is beautiful outdoor scenery in a remote location, abundant wildlife, great food and an experienced, friendly, family like staff that will do anything to make your experience one of a kind. And the fishing, or should I say catching, will ruin you for any other place. At Cobham you can catch your walleye shore lunch in about 15 minutes and then you have the rest of the day to catch those 40+ inch pike...what a day. I have only fished there the last two years, but have already scheduled 2020 and "God willing and the creek don't rise" this will be an annual trip. Mike Everhart…
