We arrived late in Rio Lagartos and got instantly chased by tourist-thirsty motorbiker. We were aware of that kind of trap so we kept driving ignoring them. He followed us to the different hotels we stopped at to finally get rid of him. We choose Posada Inn El Faro for the view and for the low season special 400$ pesos...

This hotel is located right on the waterfront right beside the lighthouse and is great for watching the fishermen and other activities on the lagoon. There are only three rooms. The one at the front is really great. It has a deck with table and chairs overlooking the lagoon. Have breakfast while watching the flamingos, frigatebirds, pelicans and other birds....

stayed here overnight so we could take a Flamingo boat tour in the morning at 6:00 am. room was clean, owner was very helpful, village was very nice and friendly. Not much going on other than the boat tours and fishermen.

It seemed like this hotel only had 3 rooms. We paid 500 pesos, which is about $40, for 2 double beds. I liked this hotel, because we had a second story patio that was right on the street where we could observe all the activity on the street and bay below. The other available hotels were either set back from...
