We ate at this restuarant while visiting Las Peñitas. The food was resonably priced for this beach town, service was good, friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was nice and the open air setting kept an otherwise hot day from being unbearable. The food was good with large portions (for us at least). Out of the places we have eaten at,...

We had an amazing stay at Barca de Oro. We had a warm welcome from the staff. The three days were really relaxing, with good food and a peaceful atmosphere. The hotel is located right on the beach in a small village of fishermen. Every morning you can enjoy the local life unloading the boats full a fresh fishes. The...

I booked this ahead thinking the week of Purisima would be super busy...the staff were really nice and helpful, and there were mosquito nets. But the beach right outside isn't anything spectacular - the next night I moved further down the beach, away from "town" and was much happier...but it is close to "town" and restaurants, but that also can make...

This is a bustling and popular spot but it was still relaxing and enjoyable. Our cabana was cool and the beds were comfy with nice new mosquito nets (though the bugs weren't bad). The hotel organized a tour of the Juan Venado reserve with a local fisherman and also asked us if others could join us to lower the cost,...

French/english and spanish speaking and very welcoming persons. The restaurant is always good and well served for the price. They propose a lot of activity and can lend you paddle and body board for free. The proximity of the beach is enjoyable. The place is peaceful, there are nice hammocks and view ! Even if the rooms aren't exceptional, our...

We stayed 5 nights, it was great. What a great location and lots to do or just relax on the beautiful beach. I especially enjoyed the use of the free paddleboards in the lagoon. We stayed in Room 1, which was recently remodeled. It was super comfortable and a beautiful room. The food was great and quite reasonably priced. The...

We stayed here for three nights last week, amazing time with helpful staff and great rooms. Food was the best I've had at Las Penitas, good variety and excellent prices. The hotel is in an ideal location, looking out over the bay is a nice way to start the day. Best place I stayed in whilst in Nicaragua, will be...

“I believe individual rooms are better? If you go to the beach on the weekend expect to pay a small fee for using the public huts. We had no issues using them without a fee until sunday. Sundays they are quite busy with locals with many food stalls being set up with fish and meats being sold.”
