My wife and I, and our friends shared a 2 bedroom villa (#7) for 5 nights. It was everything we'd hoped it would be. The staff are exceptional - always pleasant and willing to help in any way they can. We used the 'shuttle' to and from the pacific resort several times and never had to wait for more than a few minutes. The private pool in the villa made the stay so relaxing and everything about the villa was very private. A couple of suggestions (not criticisms) - my wife would have appreciated a full length mirror in the room (the only mirror was in the bathroom, and was high up for her). For me, the electric plugs were behind the bedside tables and it was difficult for us to plug things in. Some notes about Rarotonga in general. It's beautiful, relaxed and operates on 'island time'. Nobody rushes anywhere. However, there were some inconveniences. Our American credit/debit cards were effectively unusable. When we tried them, the transmission timed out before the transaction could be completed. Fortunately we took enough cash with us. One shop even told us that they didn't accept American credit cards. There are a lot of stray dogs. The ones we came across were either friendly or disinterested in us. I was told that the Cook Island government is dealing with the problem. Muri lagoon is amazing, but if you walk across to the island, try to avoid high tide if you can't swim. It's still possible, but a little unnerving if you are short. We would recommend the Mai'i Kitchen across the road for an evening's food, drink and string band entertainment - we had a couple of great evenings there.

Room Tip: The Night Market is not a 'general' market, but just food stalls. Good food at a good price though.

What a wonderful experience! Amazing accommodation - staff were very helpful and welcoming - accommodation was generous in size with a private courtyard area including a wonderful pool available for use at our pleasure - good location - right on Muri Beach, down the road from the lagoon cruises and Te Vara Nui, as well as the sister resourt Pacific Resort with complementary shuttles enabling easy use of Pacific Resort's facilities

We have stayed here multiple times, and in a number of different types of villas. We had an adult only beachfront and a family villa for our family this time around as our kids are a bit older and bring partners, but us parents wanted our own space at the same time. Service was nothing short of 5 star. The cleanliness, the extras, the service. Exceptional! Checked up on us to make sure we were ok, transferred us to Pacific Resort whenever we needed. The convenience of being close to everything we could need, including local shops, activities and Muri beach is essential to an enjoyable time in Raro. You pay a bit more to stay here, and it’s worth every penny. Have stayed in Air b and b and the Rarotongan. Nothing rates close to Te Manava in my opinion. We had a couples massage which was lovely and the ladies were very professional. Clean water is available to drink, and wifi options are also fair. There’s room service available now also, but as you get full kitchens and laundry, you can save money by preparing your own meals which is great for families.

Really enjoyed our 5 nights here, we appreciated the privacy of our own villa not only in the resort but also from the beach people can’t see in. The suite is very nicely done and comfortable, great kitchen which we used a lot. It’s nice not to have room service and constant interruptions although there are spare sheets and towels if you want them. It’s like being in your own little home in paradise for a while. All the staff were super sweet and helpful. There are bicycles and snorkeling stuff available free of charge which is great. Absolutely nothing to complain about, we would definitely stay again.

We booked a beach front villa (5c) and absolutely loved our holiday. The property has all the amenities you need to have the perfect stay, including dishwasher, washing machine etc. The villa was super clean and it shows the place is well serviced inside and out by the team. Loved the fact that we could literally walk right onto the beach and enjoy the views of Muri beach from the pool and loungers, but still have enough privacy to be able to relax. The Te Manava front of house guest service team; Tuaine & Den were the best we have experienced. They went above and beyond to look after us. This included booking our scooters, calling us before leaving each day to ask if we needed anything and most importantly, looking after us when our flight was cancelled. We will definitely be back again! Tips: ———- Clothing: No need to pack too many of the same thing, as there are washing machines in the villas, clothes dryer and everything dries quickly outside (we took too much over we didn’t need). We loved having clean fresh clothes with having the laundry facilities in our room. Rentals: If you need a car, book this from Avis; Muri beach at least a month before you arrive. Call Te Manava to reserve a scooter from Avis; Muri a week before your stay (scooters cannot be booked online from Avis; Muri) Restaurants: If you want to book Antipodes, book with them at least a month before your stay. We could not book when we arrived for the whole 8 days we were there. Food: Bring your own Nespresso pods for the Nespresso machine. There is a convenience store right across the road from the resort that will cater for most of the simple amenities you need. Equipment: The resort has a huge range of quest facilities, this includes kayaks, a few bikes and snorkels, flippers and reef shoes.

We are a family of four & have recently returned from our second week-long stay at Te Manava. We stayed in the 2bed Ultimate Beachfront Villas both times (Villa 1 & 2). We again had an excellent stay, despite the rather inclement weather Rarotonga was experiencing at the time. We love everything about this property. The villas are HUGE with more than enough space for everyone and are luxurious and very well appointed. Everything that you could possibly need for your stay is in the villa. I absolutely love the fact the villa has a dryer, which was extremely useful for kids damp towels etc. The staff were all excellent, especially Dan. My young kids also absolutely loved Korai (I hope this spelling is correct?) who everyday spent time on the beach chatting to them, cracking coconuts open for them, helping them find crabs etc. Thanks Korai & Dan! The beach out front is stunning with nice sand for the kids to play in & the snorkelling at high tide is excellent. The resort is well located with a dairy/liquor store, coffee cart & takeaways across the road plus lots of restaurants nearby. Overall, we all had a fabulous time again & feel it was excellent value for money. This has to be one of the best in Rarotonga. We will hopefully be back again next year!

Beautiful quiet, secluded luxury. Fabulous staff and a bonus having bikes and kayaks at our disposal. Close to Muri night markets and great being able to charge meals at both Little Polynesia and Pacific Resort back to our room. Fabulous spa on site.

We stayed at Te Manava with our two adult children and son-in-law so had Villa 9 which was a two storied 3 bedroom apartment. The upstairs bedroom had an ensuite which enabled the kids to have the two bedrooms and bathroom downstairs. The kitchen was fully equiped if we chose to cook our own meals. There was also a BBQ outside by the pool. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Nothing was ever too much trouble. Definitely recommend booking a rental car to get around the island. There is a good bus service that goes clockwise and anti-clockwise around the island but good to have a car so you can move about the island at your leisure. Also recommend booking a rental car early. We needed a larger vehicle as we had 5 adults in our group. We managed to get one but I think that we were just lucky in being able to get one when we did. The unit had a large fridge which was good if you are bringing food from NZ on the trip.

This is the best place we have ever stayed! It was just my husband and I and we loved the privacy of our own pool, set in a beautiful and secluded courtyard. We also had a front deck straight onto the beachfront, with sun loungers on the sun deck. The amenities are top class and the Villa was equipped with everything you could possibly need. We could not fault the Villa and cannot recommend it highly enough if you're looking for your own private sanctuary. The staff are extremely helpful, courteous and conscious of your privacy. We will definitely be going back but make sure you stay for at least 7 nights to really enjoy the luxury and tranquility. Meitaki!
