Location and views - best thing about this hotel. In the middle of the forest, great unobstructed views of Bucegi plateau (do book a room with Babele view), quiet, fresh air, in the national park, far far away from civilization. Right at the start of 3 important hiking trails: to Omu peak (3 h), To Babele Chalet (2 h) and to Piatra Arsa Chalet (2 h), all doable in one day hikes. Accessibility - the road is very good (summer) and beautiful, it passes near Bolboci lake and dam. Free big parking. They even have charging spot for electric cars. Room - very small for 4 star, but that is kinda the way standard rooms are in all Romanian ex communist renovated hotels. Bathroom also small, but clean and functional. Comfortable bed and pillows, good heating, had a great sleep. Great to have a balcony and the perfect views of the mountain. Restaurant - due to pandemic they provided food on a room service base only and the menu was very reduced. The food was good, it came very quickly, but it would have been boring to eat the same food more than 2 days. Prices were OK considering we were in the middle of the mountain. Most main dishes 50 Ron. Because of the pandemic SPA and pool were closed, but I guess when they're open it's great to have a swim or a sauna after a long hike. Staff - OK-ish, waiters were more than OK and polite, but reception girls were not very costumer oriented and not helpful at all. Would recommend this hotel for nature lovers, for special occasions, for relaxation and of course for hikers that love a little pampering after a long day of climbing mountains. We celebrated our anniversary here and were extra glad they were functioning, even with restrictions during this pandemic.

Clean rooms and nice views. Staff were okay but unaware for some things ! Heated swimming pool was cold and salty ! Jacuzzi was unpleasant because of the amount of chlorine in it. Sauna was off... food ordered from the menu was cold ....

Paid extra for 1 queen size bed, got two single beds with one king size mattress on top. The receptionist said that they don't have any bigger beds in the hotel (so we have been tricked to pay more for something but we have got something else). The breakfast buffet was small. We went for an early dinner and ordered from the menu. Everything was cold! We asked why is that, they said they don't know as the food was cooked now. Impossible! Swimming pool was cold and salty, the waterfall of the swimming pool as advertised was not working. Sauna was turned off. We had to ask to turn it on and waited over an hour for that to happen (after an hour it was hot but not as it should). You need googles for the jacuzzi as the amount of chlorine will make you cry, also breathing that amount of chlorine was nearly impossible. In the description of the hotel they stated that near them there is a telecabina that takes you to Babele and Sfinx. What they didn't say is that it is not working for over a year and a half. Staff ok. Hotel clean. Nice location. Located inside the Bucegi plateau in a natural reservation part of the Carpathian mountains. Views are stunning from the hotel and around. 5 minutes walk to the Pestera monastery and 15 minutes walk to Ialomita cave. The monastery and the cave are connected and have a very interesting history. If you want to get to Babele and Sfinx be ready for a hike as the telecabina is not working for over a year and a half or find out if it works before placing the booking. Be prepared to go and stay there, as if you want to go up and down to Sinaia it will be a mission as most of the road is in very bad condition (we lost around 8h in 5 days to go up and down as Sinaia is very interesting and alive).

I would like to mention that this hotel has a great location, magnificent views, beautiful rooms, access to the free swimming pool. However I booked 3 half board rooms the food was ok, just because I always found little for a full hotel, the waiters at some of them, but the worst one disappointed us on the first day the reception because a room was booked with dog (pocket bison) and although confirmed with the animal we were told that the policy was changed in the meantime, so we were not notified. We were told not to take him out of the room and the next day we were approached by the same receptionist but this time rude and on the bush as we went down with the dog in his arms.

I had a wonderful time with my husband and one year old baby. The room was clean, the breakfast very good, the pool amazing and the staff friendly. A big bonus for the electric car charging station. We will definitely come back.
