i stayed with my family for 2 nights, and yes the hotel is old and has a distinct smell, but all of that can be overlooked keeping in mind the EXCELLENT location, the staff is very courteous but strict in terms of food , drop/pick up etc. The hotel could use a make over, but we hardly stayed in ,...

Spent a night at the said hotel. I would say many of the reviews are fair. the hotel is dated. But it is quite common for the ryokan in japan. The big bath is quite good, but for 'rush' traveler that come from abroad where the luxury of time is not available, one doesn't have alot of chance to enjoy...

This hotel could use an extreme make-over. The interior has not been upgraded for the last 40 years. It is worn, dusty and not what we expected. The view is nice and the service is good, but that's all the positive we can say about this hotel.

The hotel was really easy to find (even with a Japanese sat nav) and first impressions of the surrounding area were really good. We took the train from Tokyo and hired a car in Odawara as we wanted to be able to travel freely around the 5 Lakes area. We arrived at the hotel about 1:30 but check-in wasn't until...

I stay only 1 night at Kawaguchiko, the rate is cheaper compare to other. I will tell about the minus of this hotel that i notice in my room. Quite dusty, i can see them in heater hole and windows, please move the wood curtain slowly otherwise the dust fly. There is one led bulb not working. In my opinion...

We chose a Japanese style room, with the futon mats on bamboo floor. We've never slept so well after a long day of travel!!! Quaint rooms, no hair dryer (that I could find) and the shower is adapted from the sink... typical efficiency bathroom. Beautiful views of the lake.. and you can't beat the price! We had the traditional Japanese...

Hotel is a bit run down, floors are spotty and the whole place feels that it needs a makeover. That said the location is nice . It overlooks the Lake Kawaguchi. Within a short walk plenty of food. Prices are very reasonable and good for the semi budget conscious travelers. It has an onsen that overlooks Mount Fuji: the bonus...

Was worried about bed bugs that I read in some review. Lo and behold, we got bitten and had at least 9 bites on one arm. Though the ryokan was large and the people are polite and I enjoy the hearty breakfast I seriously think they could do more to protect hotel guest from bites. Not sure if it is...

I read the reviews, the negative and somewhat positive and because if the pics on booking.com decided to give the place a try. My boyfriend and I came back with bed bug bites all over, both sick as dogs and he with a horrible case of pink eye! I thrive on reviews but ONLY to give good ones. I was...
