My husband and I stayed for 2 nights at the end of December, and it was perfect! We stopped here between Tokyo and Kyoto to rest from our long days of walking. The price is not cheap, but if you factor in (delicious and huge) breakfast and dinner, the cost is very reasonable. My husband cannot eat fish which can...

I booked Kozantei Ubuya on a whim six months before we went. With my husband on deployment for those six months, I had visions of an amazing trip with him upon his return where we could celebrate our anniversary and soak in the beauty of Japan. I was not disappointed. The price is steep for a room with a private...

The view, it is all about the view, all rooms face the Kawaguchiko lake, and the view is just stunning. You start off with a sunset view when you arrive and an amazing sunrise view when you wake up. On a good calm morning, you even see the perfect reflection of the volcano on the lake. Food is great, as...

There are 2 parts to this review as we stayed for 2 nights in 2 different rooms. This ryokan is pricey but I think is well worth it - read on. First, service at Kozantei Ubuya is excellent. The ryokan provides a complimentary shuttle to and fro the Kawaguchiko station and several other nearby places of interest. Our breakfast and...

After 5 days in Tokyo, we wanted to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and hopefully, catch a glimpse of Mt. Fuji. What can I say? This place is like a slice of heaven on earth! It was like going to a retreat to cleanse the mind. Service was amazing, the onsen was great, and the food was...

My boyfriend and I came here at the end of November 2016 and booked just 2 weeks before, so we planned our Japan trip around this Mt. Fuji ryokan (traditional inn) stay. At the time of booking, Ubuya was ranked #1 ryokan on Japanican, so we were excited to see what was to come. The site was also a little...

I've actually visited this lovely hotel with my husband 3 years ago but never had a chance to leave a comment here. So i'm going to do it now (better late than never). Kozantei Ubuya was one out of 3 hotels that we stayed during our one week visit to Japan to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. i) Beautiful room...

We splurged for a night here as part of our honeymoon and as the other reviews stated, the staff and views are unlike anything else. We were picked up at the train station by the hotel's staff and were greeted with green tea and snacks upon check in. We got one of the rooms with a private hot tub off...

We arrived at Ubuya in the afternoon after a crowded bus ride from Kawaguchiko station and was immediately calmed down by the soothing atmosphere. We were invited to sit down at the sofa in the lobby area and greeted with green tea and hot towel. The hotel front desk lady then The service provided by Kozantei Ubuya is simply
