We had a couples romantic getaway at this place in their 'hochzeiter hütte'. 2 relaxing nights and we took advantage of the e entities: tree house, hay bath, massage, sauna and restaurants. The place was very clean and the service at the chalet is really nice. We got a big breakfast delivered every morning and a dinner. I liked the combination of old style with high quality (Villeroy&Boch in the bathroom)

I stayed in this property in February and had a relaxing time away from the day-to-day stress. Breakfast is served by a hut butler and you can order dinner also to your hut. There is a sauna, steam room and a hot tub with stunning view of the valley. There are great hiking opportunities nearby. Would book there again.

We stayed over the Christmas and New Year holidays. Everything is very quaint, well presented and clean. We stayed in one of the older cabins and it was private yet having other cottages right next door. We were traveling with our dog and did a lot of hikes, although there were limited walking paths immediately around the grounds. Regardless, treks through the woods, endless fires and relaxing in the cabin. Breakfast and other meals delivered to our chalet. They even provided a small Christmas tree to decorate. My only real disappointments were they didn't appear to do much for recycling. We were separating everything and were told a few times everything gets thrown away (?) If this is true it shouldn't advertise Eco Resort. Also meals at all restaurants were very good, just do yourself a favor and don't get talked into buying wines while "they are cleaning out the wine cellar". We were led to believe we were getting a nice/fair buy on a very few expensive bottles of wine. Shame on us for not investigating and just believing; severely overpaid, especially one bottle by around 300 Euro. Shame on them and shame on us. Just be cautious and know what your paying for.

There is no doubt that this resort is pretty unique and well managed. We stayed for a week in August and really enjoyed our stay but it was really not what I expected and I think it's my fault rather than the resort's fault. It was just a little more rustic than I envisaged and there were some basics missing that I had just taken for granted. The time we were in Austria, the first week of August, it was extremely hot. Down in the valleys it was 34 degrees or higher whilst up at the height of the Almdorf it was more like 23 or 24 so from that perspective just perfect. The mountainside location is beyond beautiful and as daylight fades the views over the valley are beautiful. You park your car and walk around the resort during your stay. It is really quite charming as you meander through all the different little chalets. Each has its own outdoor area and many have tubs on the outdoor deck too. Breakfast is delivered to your chalet daily based on your order and set up either in the kitchen or weather permitting on your deck. It is served with crisp white table linens and the produce is all local and delicious. We also loved the food in the resort's main restaurant which is so authentic both in the design of the restaurant but also the menu. Highly recommend it and though on the more expensive side, well worth it What caught me by surprise is that the cabins/ chalets are really rustic and I felt the pictures made them appear more fancy than they are. In reality, the chalets are boarded in wall to wall pine upstairs and the chalet we stayed in (one of the smallest they have to be fair), felt a bit like Heidi's house. There is virtually no hanging space and the bathroom was bijou and again panelled in wood from floor to season. I am a city girl so with apologies to the management of this resort, I just felt a bit like this was posh (and expensive) camping. Getting up and down the steep and small staircase was also a challenge if you were holding anything bigger than a pair of shoes. Not complaining just observations from someone who loves luxury and came with slightly off kilter expectations. When I went back and read the literature they don't claim it is anything other than rustic. Highly recommend for the experience. It's pretty unique, an absolute must for anyone trying to find a slice of the real Austria and a very romantic choice for any couple celebrating anything. Just leave your Jimmy Choo's behind. Great location for exploring the local area. Plenty of fantastic walks in the area and so many beautiful lakes. Absolutely fell in love with Carinthia.

The weather was pretty bad during our stay but I loved it all the same and would love to check it out for some skiing. We stayed in cabin #10 and unfortunately didn't fire up the stove. I had a memorable experience attended by a young women in the spa who lead me to jump in the pond after a seriously hot sauna session. I felt amazing. I especially appreciate the green philosophy and dinner were delicious as well.

We stayed here for two nights in July between Vienna and Venice and wished we stayed another 2 at least. From the very start the hosts were super nice and helpful, the staff met our every request. It felt like perhaps the off season, it was a large resort with maybe just 6 or 7 occupants for the entire village. The most surprising part for me was the tremendous value in the food. The portions were gigantic, and the cost was overall very reasonable. This was also true in their spa menu and other areas. We arrived one evening, and did not leave the property until the following day. We hiked around the property for hours and enjoyed the sights. I really highly recommend this as a way to get far from the major tourist sights and relax for a bit, very quiet and peaceful for the whole stay.

This place is paradise. The cabins are _gorgeous_. The food is delicious. The landscape is amazing and the hiking is just hard enough. You hardly enounter other guests (unless you eat at the dleicious Gasthaus) and you will walk away totally relaxed after a few days. We will be back.

Spent one night here in October 2017 as a stop on our road trip through Austria. The area is secluded and peaceful and perhaps because we were there off-season, the hotel was practically empty. We were in a premium mountain view chalet, it has a very small balcony overlooking the property and forest (and some mountains) and there was also a private sauna. The cabin had two floors and was nice, very new and very clean. Given that the resort was empty and that we paid for a premium cabin already (nearly EUR600), I thought it was poor practice to not be offered an upgrade to a room with a private hot tub, since those were empty anyway. Generally, service was a bit stiff and check-in felt awkward, we got the feeling that the ladies checking us in were ticked off that we were only there for one night. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was excellent and unlike ladies at reception, the staff here were friendly and welcoming. The 3-course meal was pricy, but excellent and we felt it the price was justified. Breakfast was delivered to our room in the morning and some eggs were prepared in our kitchen by a staff member while we were getting ready upstairs. Breakfast was nice, but we felt a bit isolated eating in our room. Not sure if they offer that option, but we would have preferred to eat at the restaurant. Generally, this is a nice property, but we felt like the service and the atmosphere of the hotel village did not justify the price. Not likely to return.

The Idea of this hotel is very nice but realization wise not 5 star service at all. We traveled for our honeymoon, and told them we wanted a special dinner one night. Since the restaurant we liked to go to was not available, they told us we would have a very nice table in another restaurant and they would prepare something special for us, which honestly I absolutely expect from a 5 star hotel in this price range. That day, nothing was prepared. They did not even had a table for us, so we ended up having our special dinner together with some other guest we did not even know, at the same table. There where many many other things like that during our visit, but i am not going to write all of them down. Same with the massages we had. I did one hour full body massage, which was the worst massage of my life. The therapist kept asking me if I had a job for her, telling me how she hated to massage all day long. and how her hands hurt. I was freezing the hole time. And I don"t know what exactly she was doing for 60 minutes working just on my back? Since no one asked us upon check out or later in a survey how our stay was, I am sorry to let you know about our stay in this way.
