Warm hospitality, good food and great location perched on top of a hill overlooking the Phobane Dam and rolling hills of Nkwalini. Loved the accommodation (in traditional Zulu Beehive huts). The Zulu dancing is a must!

We were wondering how going to a film set would turn out but it was a great mixture of 1850s Zululand and modern day hotel. We were escorted in and about by ethnic performers that gave us a feel for the times and customs
The staff are amazing, the food acceptable and the experience and setting fabulous. But the hotel and rooms are in dire need of renovation and for the price we expected more. This used to be an amazing hotel .

Most definitely! For the last two years, I have visited Shakaland and enjoyed the tour through the Zulu village. And I highly recommend staying for the traditional Zulu luncheon, featuring many delicious native dishes.
