There aren’t enough words to describe how wonderful our stay was at Sifnaika Konakia. We booked a last minute holiday island hopping in Greece, with Sifnos being our last stop before heading to Athens and then home. This was our first visit to the island of Sifnos, it certainly won’t be the last!
We arrived by ferry and made the easy 10 minute walk to Sifnaika which is on the main (very quiet) road from the port to the capital Apollonia. When we arrived we rang the bell and the wonderful Maria appeared and showed us to our room. As soon as we walked in we were blown away by the amazing view. The room is beautiful and thoughtfully designed, immaculately clean and so wonderfully peaceful. Maria explained a bit about the island, the procedures at Sifnaika and some practicalities (Wi-Fi, air con etc). The friendliest check in ever!
The rooms are equipped with large fridge, plates and cutlery and a kettle. The tap water is drinkable. The bathroom was spotless and maintained as such throughout our stay with great quality towels, good shower and endless hot water. There’s a large balcony with a table and chairs, deckchair and stunning views of the bay and hillside opposite.
Breakfast is an absolute feast of home made local delicacies. The excellent system works so well; each morning you go down to Maria’s kitchen, and she tells you what she has available today. Wonderful homemade pastries, cakes, bread, eggs, fresh fruit salads, muesli, tea & coffee etc. As well as ham and cheese and extra little surprises. There’s no waste as you have exactly what you want, we had a lot as it was so delicious, it kept us going all day!
The location couldn’t be better, 10 minutes stroll to the ferry, beach and some wonderful places to eat, yet still perfectly peaceful. We hired scooters for a couple of days from the nearby rental place. Alternatively there are bus services across the island to the capital and other beaches.
Maria and the team are absolutely amazing, they never seem to stop working and clearly take pride in getting everything so right. They have gone above and beyond to create such an amazing place and have obviously put in so much effort to make this wonderful place! so special. My only regret is that we were here for just 6 nights; we will definitely stay longer next time we are at our new favourite place in Greece!
Sifnos is an absolutely beautiful island. If you like things peaceful, stunning scenery, great food and friendly people this is definitely the place for you.

This charming and unique property rests just east of the port, a five minute walk to the town of Kamares, which is mostly one main street. Rooms are large and carefully furnished, each with a private balcony or patio overlooking the bay. The property is beautifully landscaped, with abundant fig trees ripe with plump fruits, and inviting patios with tables, chairs, chaises, games, puzzles, a barbecue area, and even a hot tub. Chickens, turtles, and adorable kittens roam about, and if you don't mind, the kittens will visit, play with you, nap in your room, and beg for your breakfast. And what a breakfast! Maria - the proprietor, who exudes energy, is there to take care of your every need, including a custom made breakfast of eggs, yogurt, fruit, meat, avocado toast, whatever you need. (She may also surprise you with a homemade baked treat in the middle of the day.) Many rooms also have kitchenettes if you want to heat up your takeaway or market purchases. The price is extremely fair and Maria was even willing to extend our stay until we had to catch our ferry.
The only thing I would warn potential guests is that there are a lot of steps - hauling our suitcases up and down was not easy - Maria offered to help. I would also caution guests to park on the street (which is very easy and available) instead of trying to enter the steep driveway.

This was the second time we visited Sifnos and, for the second time, we chose to stay at Sifnaika Konakia. We stayed in the sea view room which is spotlessly clean, and has a large balcony with wonderful views of Kamares bay and of the stunning mountains. The breakfast is delicious (delicious homemade cakes, freshly baked pastries, homemade jams, fruit salad & greek yogurt were among my favorites), and one of the best moments of each day was having this delicious breakfast sitting on our balcony overlooking the mountains. Sifnaika Konakia is a very peaceful place. Its outdoors are very green and very well kept, with different sitting & lounge areas where we can relax and enjoy the view. Maria and all her team members are very welcoming, professional, and friendly. Plus Sifnaika Konakia is very conveniently located; only a 3-minute walking distance to the supermarket, stores & restaurants. We'll definitely stay here next time we visit Sifnos.

We have been visiting Sifnos for 8 or 9 years, on occasions twice a year and always stay at Sifnaika Konakia Tradition Settlements. The main port of Kamares is only a five minute walk away which has tavernas and shops and also has a beautiful beach. Bus stop right outside the property which makes it easy to explore this beautiful island. We have only stayed in the sea view rooms which are beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean, and have a wonderful view of Kamares bay from your large balcony. Maria the owner and her family are so welcoming and work incredibly hard, the breakfast they provide is first class and most enjoyable sitting on you balcony or in the garden. If you are thinking of visiting Sifnos then look no further than staying at Sifnaika Konakia Traditional Settlements.

This was my absolute favorite place I stayed in all of Greece. I am a solo female traveler, and while this was little but more costly than the other places I chose to stay on other islands, it was well worth it. I was there for 3 nights and immediately felt like a part of the family! Maria made the most delicious breakfast every morning and even prepared a fresh batch of chickpea soup for all of her guests to eat at their leisure on Sunday. The property is just beautiful and you cannot go wrong with any room, they are all so traditional, calming, and so cute! She picked me up from the ferry port and even made a transfer for me when I needed to stay one more night on the island. I will definitely be coming back here if I am ever in Sifnos again!

I found Sifnaika Konakia to be a very comfortable hotel. Our room was spacious as was its balcony. The hotel is conveniently situated, close to town and the beach with a bus stop outside. The location is quiet and relaxing. Maria and team were very welcoming to us and helpfully helped us transport our luggage. Breakfast is freshly made and is collected on a tray and can be eaten on the balcony which has a lovely view of the bay. I would certainly recommend staying here.

This hotel is a real find - from the beautifully maintained mature garden to the delicious homemade breakfast - Maria's hotel is a labour of love down to the tiniest detail.
We were a family of four with two teenagers in the larger studio and it worked really well as an affordable family room. First off - the beds were really comfy - even the kids beds, and they double up as a sofa during the day. The decor is charming and full of character, a lot of thought has gone into making them unique with loads of cute touches.
The garden has a number of spots to sit in, with wonderful fruit trees, a hot tub, bbq area, and benches dotted all over the place. There was a shady table and terrace next to the room, as well as a little patio right outside the door where you have a coffee in the morning and dry your swimwear when you come back from the beach. There was also fridge and cooking area in the room, with a kettle and coffee maker - and beautiful plates and mugs from the island's signature pottery tradition.
Now, the breakfasts - these were exceptional and the whole process of getting them was so charming and fun I really looked forward to finding out what delights Maria had rustled up for us each day. Taking your tray back to your room meant you could enjoy them at leisure, there was less waste and you never felt rushed. Also good for staggered breakfast times for sleeping teens. Homemade jams, pastries, cakes, eggs, ham, cheeses and always some extra delight to tempt you as well as coffee, tea and hot chocolate.
It's worth making sure you are staying there on a Sunday to get a bowl of the exceptional local speciality - a chickpea soup that Maria makes. I tried this local delicacy a few times in restaurants and they didn't come close to Maria's version. I will spend my life trying to recreate that!
The whole place was so family friendly with toys and beach stuff for younger kids, and really relaxed. Everyone working there was so welcoming. Maria was also incredibly helfpul with local knowledge before our arrival and during our stay. The garden is impeccably maintained and the whole place was clean and in great shape. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk from Kamares - with loads of excellent restaurants and a wonderful beach.
All in all - this place is special, and I would go back there in a heartbeat. Sifnos itself is a delightfully perfect Greek Island with loads to do and see but remote enough to feel special, authentic and exclusive.

We enjoyed our time here. The homemade breakfast and quick morning chats made this place feel like a second home. The owner gave great hiking tips and looked out for us when she asked if we booked rentals yet (we didn’t at the time ) and she said better hurry cause it’s usually gone! She was right! We still managed around bus but that was good tip by the owner. The terrace is very relaxing to eat every morning. It is also equipped with outdoor drying rack. You might encounter the cats on your terrace :) Location is 8-10 minutes from the port. Far enough to be away from the noise but close enough to visit quickly. There is a convenient store nearby if you wish to stick up. The water is also drinkable as advised by the owner: we were fine!

Our time at Sifnaika Konaki has been so amazing!
Starting off, the room was big and clean, and the view of the sea was amazing. The breakfast was a little different every morning, and eating it on our balcony was a very relaxing start of the day. The breakfast was a good combination of sweet and savory, and we could choose how much we wanted of each thing.
The walk from all restaurants and shops is only about 3 minutes, so it’s very accessible from everything.
There’s many different restaurants to choose from depending on what food you want - anything is amazing!
We had a little trouble with the bus one day, and Maria helped us with the times and our questions.
There are a lot of cats roaming the island, and we have learnt that they are taken care of by the locals and it is completely safe to pet them. They will eat food if you give them any, but don’t worry that they are starving.
Maria also has three cats that live at the hotel, as well as three turtles. Be prepared to be surrounded by cats if you come to Sifnos!
The staff made our stay so much better, always helping us with whatever we needed. Maria picked us up when arriving and drove us down to the port when leaving free of charge.
I would recommend going here if you want a relaxing place to stay, a little away from all the cars and people making noise down by the port.
We will definitely come back! Thank you for such a nice experience at your hotel:))

The definition of Greek philoxenia!
The maid, who cleaned our room was very careful wit our stuff. Mrs Maria made us feel comfortable and she came to the port to transfer us safely and for free. There is a bus station across the street and makes the transportations easier. The room was cute and they also had toys, mats and
rackets and they let us borrow them (they also have playground for the children) . In the morning we went to the kitchen and they had a variety of foods an beverages which mrs Maria ande her son Nikos made by themselves. The best thing was that we were alloewd to chooae what we wanted to eat and drink and the putted them in a big food tray and that made us feel special. I will definitely recommend the hotel to couples, friends and families. (Anastasia & Marina)
