If you check in an Indian Rs 500-Rs 800 hotel in a place like Mahabalipuram, you know what to expect, right? On these terms, the hotel was ok, maybe even too relaxed (someone could empty the dustbins every now and then, right?) and the price correct. Extra good point: Babu's cafe on the premises, choice of various rooms according to...

Fantastic atmosphere, you feel like home between the friendly family who is running the place. The green surrounding, laidback vibe, even the sound of the waves at night is making it to me a paradise. Nothing is to much for the family, who are taking care as much they can do, very appreciate there personal touch!!! From a friendly smile,...

We decided to visit Mahabalipuram in a short notice and booked this hotel for a night's stay. I was quite unsure as to how the stay would pan out as my parents were traveling with me. As it turned out, this place was very comfortable. Pros: 1. Conveniently located near the beach. It is a 5 minute walk to the...

We made a last minute plan and got a chance to stay here. It was clean , green and the people around were extremely friendly. The rooms are apt for a short stay - they have 2 options; AC and non-AC. The fare is cheap so it's perfect for budget friendly stays. There is a small massage room behind the...

My wife and I stayed at the family-run Greenwoods budget hotel for 4 nights during the Pongal (harvest) festival in January 2016. We felt welcomed by the family and staff (especially Vijay) who even encouraged my wife's first foray into Rangoli (the Indian decorating of doorways with coloured powders - very popular in Mamallapuram). The rooms are set amidst a...

Greenwoods Beach Resort itself is very good placed within the tourist area of Mamallapuram/Mahabalipuram - although "Beach" is slightly exagerated.. The rooms are quite big and have enough light, before you reach there they are quite thoroughly cleaned. The staff is friendly and several of them speak good English. Within the premises you find - like in many other room...

This is a basic, but comfortable guest house, run by a friendly family. It is in a convenient location - from it youcan easily walk to good restaurants, and the sights of Mahabalipuram - the rock carvings in the hill, the shore temple + the 5 rathas. It is not luxurious, but good value for a cheap price.
