We had accomodation at this hotel for 10 nights at end of June to beginning of July. The place is quiet, nice and tidy, close to the sea and for rooms with the sea view the landscape is simply amazing. Staff is friendly with a guest oriented attitude. We had a good experience here. Thank you guys.

We recommend both the hotel, as well as the restaurant and the beach. The hotel room was cleaned every day. The staff in the hotel helpful and nice. The restaurant offers delicious Greek food in good price, from starters to main dishes. The restaurant staff smiled every time. And the hotel beach...one of the prettiest in the surrounding. The location of the hotel is excellent. Near to Potos and Limenaria. This place is a good choice for holiday time.

Just returned from the "Emerald Island". We stayed in Pefkari at the Thassos Hotel.

This is the ideal place to be if you like simple pleasures. The beach is small and clean. there are water sports available if thats what flies your kite. You will also find five or 6 good quality restaurants serving excellent Greek and International food.

The hotel itself is medium sized, well furnished and very clean. Breakfast is the normal fare offered in most greek B&B hotels (Cereals, bread, preserves, tea/coffee etc)

What makes this hotel stand out for me is the level of service you get from the owner, his family and the staff. I have been to many of the normal Brit tourist hot spots but this hotel is way above the norm expected.

Nothing is too much trouble here. Everyone is so helpful and friendly and you are looked after like you are one of their family. I have met people who have been going to this hotel for the last 20+ years and I can see why. I certainly will be returning next year, as are most of the people I have met this year.

We are family of four enjoying Thassos hotel at Pefkari for the last ten years.

Great location at the top end of the lovely Pefkari bay, 20m from the beach, clean and airy rooms with a fabulous view (sea side or hills), beach side restaurant & bar, tennis court, table tennis, swimming pool, gym, children's playground, A/C, free WiFi, free parking ... they have it all.

But what is making Thassos hotel so special is an excellent level of service, from the owners to the very last employee. From the moment you send an e mail Betty and her team make you feel welcome and appreciated. From the polite girls at the reception desk, to Alexander and the rest of the boys in the restaurant who are always quick and ready to help with suggestions regarding the daily menu, to Chef Marjan who is making an effort to surprise restaurant guests with new meals almost every day, to pizza maker who is keeping top level of quality pizzas for years, to Ana and girls from room service who are doing extremely good work of keeping rooms clean, nice and tidy.

Next to the beach location is enabling guests to spend the whole day at the beach, enjoy food and Mythos beer for lunch and closing the day with a great sunset. In the evening, one can visit Potos 15 min walk or Limenaria 5 min by car. Aliki and Paradise beach are worth visiting, just make sure to be there early in order to avoid crowds. The same applies for the visit to the Holy Archangels Monastery.
A visit (or two) to Iris Gold for a gold lovers is a must! Take your wife to Iris Gold 3 times and you will live as a king until the next summer! :)))

The last but not the least, unlike many other local hotels who are changing room prices every summer depending on how good or bad the season is, these guys at Thassos hotel are keeping the same level of room prices for years which is very convenient when making the holiday budget.

My family and I spent 10 gorgeous days in hotel “Thassos”on Pefkari Beach, near Potos, on June 2011. It is our second trip to this island, now with a two year old son. First of all, Pefkari is just right place for family with small children – peaceful little cove, all accommodations and restaurants are a few meters from the sea, little playground for small children and for older ones various sea sports, Potos town is 10 minutes walk distance, Limenaria 20 minutes. Not to mention that all you can smell is salty air and pine trees and all you can see (when you drink your evening tea or morning coffee) is sea, moon and sun.
The hotel was small, but cozy. The room was clean, with mosquito net, refrigerator, safe deposit box (free of charge), air-condition (free of charge) and Wi-Fi (also free of charge). We had a nice terrace, sea view. If you want a pool, hotel has it, but we never used it, sea is much better choice for swimming. Also, there was a nice tennis court, small gym and parking. The owners of the hotel have a beach café and pizzeria, just nice, see pictures. Breakfast was, I will called “continental buffet”, so maybe it is better option to take a short walk to Pothos where you have two god bakeries and few spots for pita giros. At the end, if you want a high class tourism, Thassos island is not for you (as almost all of it’s accommodations), but if you seek astonish nature (endless pine and olive trees, waterfall, small lake, mountains, beaches of all kinds and shapes – small, large, stone, pebbles, white or yellow sand…) good food (also handmade honey and olive oil), nice people and anti-stress vacation, this island is a choice for you. Hotel fulfill all of our expectations (sea front, Wi-Fi, everyday cleaning, hospitality, moderate prices) so, we’re highly recommend it. I almost forgot, there is a beautiful park with wooden benches and discretely street lighting just near the hotel, right place for doing nothing, just sitting and looking the sea…

We stayed two weeks at this hotel in August 2013. We travelled with a child (2,5 years old). We were searching for a rather small structure as we dislike big resorts, with animation, huge restaurants etc. We also try to avoid holiday villages with discos and busy promenades. The place and the hotel fully met our expectations (the information available at the hotel website mostly reflects the reality).

Location:
Generally speaking, Thassos is still unspoiled, lovely destination, with good climate even in August (lots of woods). The Paradise Beach close to Koinyra is the most spectacular sand beach on the island (approx. 40-minute drive from the hotel).

Pefkari is a small tourist village. It is easily connected with a local tourist ports of Limenaria and Potos via a new pretty promenade (access to few tiny local beaches and to one large beautiful Metalia Beach). There are few good taverns, cafeterias, shops and one diving and water sport centre. The beaches: sand, gravel and pebbles. Water is very clear – good for snorkelling. Pefkari is well connected with other villages and towns of the island by bus. Yet, a car would be the fastest option, especially if you intent to visit the mountains.

Hotel and taverna:
It is a 2star family hotel, with small swimming pool, tennis court and old-aged gym. The hotel’s tavern, where lunches and dinners are served, is really good. Moreover, it is located on the terrace overlooking the sea (great sunsets and beautiful views on the Mount Athos).

We chose HB option. Breakfasts were rather modest, but dinners - simple but truly tasty. Fresh local products, traditional cuisine. This was what we expected from a Greece tavern.

Umbrellas and beach bed are free of charge in the swimming pool area, there is some charge for those on the beach, but during two-week stay we were not ask to pay.

Rooms:
The rooms are ok, cleaned every day, air-conditioned, with wifi connection. Some of them offer a great sea view. Many of them have been recently refurnished. We stayed in a family room with a kitchen-dining corner. The beds were not very comfortable. We found mattresses pretty hard.

In sum, a great, peaceful stay on a Greek island.

Nice hotel close to the beach (only 30m), very clean, good food and nice staff.
Pefkari is a small village but have 6 taverns, few magazines and one supermarket.
No so busy like Potos, very nice beach with clean sea. Thank you Christina and Anastasia.

Hotel Thassos in Pefkari is the ideal place for a holiday. It has a tennis court, swimming pool, gym and beachside restaurant. Family run, it offers great service and care for its' guests. The rooms are bright and airy with sea or mountain views. Plenty of parking on site. Fresh fish is available daily, pizzas made while you wait in a wood fired oven, and if you ask the chef, he may even cook a special request just for you. It's no surprise that families return here year after year. The sea is clear and full of fish to watch if you enjoy to snorkel, and there's a dive centre adjacent to the hotel. Plenty of beach brollies to shelter from the sun and a water sports centre to hire boats, pedalos and jet skis or be taken for high speed ride being towed on one of the inflatables.
The village of Pefkari is only about 300 meters long but it's a hidden gem and well worth a visit wherever you are staying on the island just to enjoy a drink and watch the amazing sunset over the hills.

We have been on Thassos island for 21 days and it was just excellent holiday, even though that first 10 days we spent on Western Coast in Skala Sotiros, where we were very disappointed with accommodation (only with it). Rest of the time we spent in Pefkari, hotel Thassos and it was absolutely different experience. Wonderful family hotel, clean, nice room, pleasant owner and staff, very tasty cuisine, rich breakfast and beautiful surrounding.

"Choose rooms at upper floors. Garden view are ok., nice views of surrounding hills. Some people find the main road pretty noisy. In our experience it was not disturbing. Rooms located at the last floors with sea view are just great. If you are travelling with kids, ask for family rooms as they have kitchen-dining corner. Very convenient."
