    last minute golfing trip
A short 5 night break at Greenway Valley holiday park mid July and thank you to Colin, Andrea and family the new site owners for making the stay such an enjoyable break. Having only been at the site for 3 weeks the family have been working hard to help get the place up and running after being closed for 2 years and as the first guests to stay in chalet 9 we were pleasantly surprised when we walked in how well the chalets had been refurbished with brand new linens, furniture and utensils, they were also spotlessly clean. The units are old style but we're extremely comfortable for a family of four ( inc. x2 teenage boys 14 and 18) with a games room ( table tennis and pool ) they were entertained in the evening with an added option of badminton, tennis and basketball. There is a swimming pool that would have been lovely if open but under current circumstances it was closed, but this certainly adds so much potential to the small and secluded site. With the intention of playing Golf everyday the boys found Torrington Golf course ideal, 9/18 holes a cracking course, open to non members, beautifully kept, mature course and cheap at £18 for 18 holes with really friendly locals. Torrington itself is a nice little town but seems to have suffered with the lockdown with local pubs still closed, we managed to find the local Cavalier open but not serving food but the barman let us get a takeaway and bring it in, giving us plates and cutlery to eat. We also managed to book in with the Torrington Arms for a curry evening which was also a good option instead of cooking. The other evenings we used the brand new barbecue facilities Colin had set up at the site and buying meat from the local butcher in Torrington ( superb ) we enjoyed our meal on site. All in all it was a great few nights away, there is still lots to do at the site but the family go out of their way to make sure everything is in place for you and are working hard to maintain the facilities, there is lots of potential and lots of ideas to improve and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return in the future

    Lovely location
Booked a week here with our two daughters and stayed in one of the chalets. Very impressed! Everything was so clean and in some cases looked brand new! The kitchen was well equipped, the beds were extremely comfortable and there was plenty of wardrobe space, including hangers. The site was going through a refresh as the new owners had only taken over earlier this year. They had achieved great things in such a short space of time. Site included a parking space outside the chalet, a games room and a laundry room with washing machine/tumble dryer. The outdoor pool was under-going maintenance but will be a lovely addition once up and running. Colin and Andrea were lovely hosts and we are already planning a return visit - thank you both.

    Lovely friendly site
We stayed in our motorhome for a couple of nights. Colin & Andrea and family were most welcoming. We used the beautifully kept swimming pool and enjoyed the quiet seclusion of the edge of the woods Holiday park. Good Games Room too!

Brilliant stay! I came here with my two children and we had the most wonderful time. The kids loved the heated swimming pool and games room, where they played pool and table tennis . We went for some lovely walks, played tennis and just love how peaceful and chilled it is on the site. Colin and Andrea are so helpful and welcoming - brilliant site and highly recommend.

Lovely place, really welcoming and friendly owners. Wide view of the woods and pool from the chalet, which is light and spacious and well equipped for self catering. Comfy bed, brilliant shower. Great laundry facilities. Clean and tidy everywhere. Quiet with birds singing out in the woods, nice walk with a trickling stream at the bottom of the wooded valley, and feels like your well out in the country even though town is just a few minutes away.

Just spent 3 days at this site and had a wonderful time. We stayed in a two-bed chalet which was perfect for us as a family of 4. Had all the kitchen equipment you need plus extras such as a cloth, teatowel and sponge. Chalet was very clean and a great space - much better than a hotel in my view. The site is small, which means no overcrowding and all you can hear is the birds. The games room with pool table, ping pong and darts was a great addition. They also have a room with other sports equipment and games to borrow. Would highly recommend and would go back.

We stayed for 8 night at end of August. We were only going to stay for a few days but kept extending as it was so fab! Two bedroom chalet was perfect for our family of four with a toddler and a 7 month old baby. Everything covered in kitchen to cook and eat with. Swimming pool was lovely and we enjoyed a few dips. They have a fab room where you can borrow board games, dvds, books etc. They even had beach equipment to borrow. They have literally thought of EVERYTHING. A lovely family run resort and one we can't wait to return to again.

We stayed here for a week at the end of July/beginning of August - family of 4 (aged 17 & 14). We had a great time. Colin & Andrea are very good - came over when we checked in to make sure we were okay - and gave us some tips about what to do and see in the area - and were generally on hand to answer any questions we had. We stayed in a Chalet (number 5) - perfectly adequate for our needs, very clean and tidy - and the beds were really comfy. The had a games room (ping pong, pool, darts & table football) and also rackets available to play badminton/tennis etc on their tennis court. And also an outside heated pool which was great (and again very clean). The location is ideal - in a very quiet area away from the local town but in a great location to explore North Devon. We did the usual beaches (recommend Westward Ho!), hired some bikes and did part of the Tarka Trail from Great Torrington Cycle Hire to Instow (Instow by the way is lovely and well worth a visit). We had a boat trip with Ilfracombe Sea Safari - and also went up the highest peak in Somerset (Dunkery Beacon) and Devon (High Willhays). For food we did a mixture of eating in and out. Would recommend the Torridge Inn (which is a pub that does Thai food), All in all a great 7 days spent here - would recommend.

I recently stayed here for 5 nights with my husband and our 2 pre-teen kids, and had a fantastic time. We went on day trips most days (Dartmoor, Tintagel Castle, north Devon beaches), but also spent some time locally (Rosemoor, Great Torrington). We stayed in a chalet, which was a good size for us, and had everything we needed to cook, sleep and lounge around (great couches, and the beds were very comfy). We used the pool and games room (pingpong, billiards) a lot, did some laundry, and really enjoyed having our coffee and breakfast outdoors each morning. I look forward to going back, and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a quiet, peaceful central base to explore the area.
