Detailed Reviews
This place is unique in many ways. A place of our fantastic wedding a few years ago and so we like to come back to celebrate, relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, atmosphere and people. Rooms are lovely, comfortable and with great views; food is fantastic, fresh and sourced locally accompanied by great wine. Coffee is the best I had in a while. All staff were professional, friendly and very accommodating.
This hotel has something that most don't - fantastic space and atmosphere of the forests and mountains that one can enjoy relaxing in the newly built 'lounge'. I could spend days there...
We spent 4 days here in August and can't wait to come back again (salt water pool in the garden is a must). Highly recommend.

We had the most beautiful wedding at U Holubu - expertly and excellently delivered by Mr Barnet and his staff. All of the team are incredibly diligent, proactive and helpful. The venue is just bliss - beautiful rooms and the most perfect place for the wedding of your dreams. Both the food and drink were exceptional. Special thanks to Mr Barnet for his guidance and support in planning (a man clearly of impeccable taste and wise in planning). We could not have asked for more.

Hotel changed our room to different one without asking us. There was a wedding in the hotel nobody told us, so extreme noise everywhere. When I asked, where could we have dinner, when the wedding is everywhere (we have had booked dinner), receptionist told us they will put us somewhere. We left the hotel without immediately. This hotel is total dissapointment to me and I cannot recommend it at all.

We wanted to have a wedding here because I am originally from this locality (now living in Australia) and on the website it all looks nice. Unfortunately we were forced to pay bond before we could check the services by our parents at the wedding presentation event. We had to pay extra for that. Also before they told us at least some rough budget, which we asked for at least 3 times before. The food and services were way bellow our expectations and the price way above local standard. We were not happy. We decided right after to cancel our reservation (6 months before wedding). They refused many times to return bond. We are going to suit this company - we have the right to get our money back, though of-course it cost us time and is nothing pleasant.

We liked this place from outside so we decided to stop there for a quick coffee. It is an amazing place with the great design inside. I have to admit that coffee and tea was very good. And the best thing was a young waitress, she was simply brilliant because her approach and attitude was amazing and I believe some other servers should learn from her!
At the same time we experienced some manager or maybe even restaurant owner who had a business meeting close to us where they loudly discussed the "problematic" customers that they have all the time. Unfortunately, because of this experience we couldn't fully enjoy our time there :-(

Me and my wife had wedding organized at this hotel and i have to say that it was the best choice. Awsame place in the nature, with great food and superb service (service was really friendly and helpful). Also the owner, mr.Barnet is real professional and overall everything related to organization was really smooth.

+1
My family and I stayed here in August for 3 nights to attend a wedding. The hotel is in a beautiful setting and ideal for a wedding ceremony. Our room was very clean, large and consisted of a lovely big bathroom. However there was no mirror in the room, which made things very awkward when attending a wedding. Breakfast was self service and quite good. Evening meal was excellent and great value. We certainly enjoyed our stay here and must mention the excellent staff particularly Dominic and Sebastian who looked after our every need despite been under tremendous pressure. Would highly recommend this hotel for a wedding venue or just for a vacation and have to say we enjoyed ourselves immensely. However one bit of criticism, our room was booked for 3 people and consisted of 1 double bed (which was fine) and a sofa bed which was very uncomfortable. Gardens and surrounding countryside also help to make this hotel worth recommending. Would definitely stay here again.

Tucked away at the bottom of a mountain is U Holubu Hotel and from the time you arrive to the time you leave you will enjoy all the facilities. We attended our sons wedding for 3 days and can thoroughly recommend, English was no problem and the friendly welcome given by all the staff was a credit to them. The food was very good and the steak dinner on the first night will take some beating, breakfast was continental buffet and the Wedding meal was in keeping with the restaurant. The small swimming pool was for the brave but the walks around the garden in the heat were wonderful. The wedding itself was different to the regular Irish one as this was an International event but well worth travelling too. The Irish contingent certainly left their mark on the event with their version of Riverdance and the Czechs responded with there dances!!
The only downside was that the Hotel rooms had no wardrobes and no mirrors except in a dark bathroom.
Thank-you Sebastion and Dominic for the great service and your company

We haven't accommodate, just stayed for a dinner in the evening. The food, service and fireplace where the waitress kept adding the log was just awesome. The food was delicious and our mood thanks to the fireplace was so nice, i found myself in difficulties to leave.
