We splurged a little to stay at this hotel, but we were not disappointed. We had the most fantastic time here. The food was really good, the room was out of this World, and the views from the terrace were breathtaking. We were so well looked after. The staff were always around when we returned from one of our beautiful...

If you are planning to be in the Guilin area, put this destination and hotel on your itinerary! Absolute gem, and recommend for more than just 1 night stay as there is much to explore in the relaxed neighboring villages and hiking paths that connect the area. We went to the LiAn Lodge twice while we lived in China as...

We experienced many ‘greats’ on our trip to China, but the Longji area and Li-An Lodge are a must if looking for something extraordinary – almost surreal. It was like being inside a snowglobe - a place where time seems to stop. A short drive from Guilin our tour bus dropped us off at the foot of the Longji Rice...

Rosalie and the staff at the Li An Lodge went beyond our expectations. They went out of their way to be friendly. The lodge is clean and THE place to stay when visiting the rice terraces. Will definitely be back!!

A trip to China is not complete without experiencing the Longji area. The rice paddies carved into the mountainside, the small quaint village of Ping An, and the Li’an Lodge are among my favorite memories of China. After a bus ride and hike up the mountain through Ping An, we came upon a wonderful lodge near the top of the...

We stayed at this hotel in early November and can't say enough good things about it. The staff, especially Sally, the assistant manager, were courteous and very professional. I had hurt my knee and they went out of their way to help me. We stayed in the Double Happiness room and it was so unique and beautifully decorated. The Longsheng...

This is out of the way elegance at its finest. The owner has divided the hotel into 15 rooms, each of which brings back his memory of "old China" as he remembers it as a boy. So there is a room on Celadon, a room on Herbs, a room on Silk, a room on Boats etc. The attention to detail...

Loved the village and the hotel is situated almost at the peak. We stayed in the window room which was beautiful. I recommend getting a tour of all the rooms so you can appreciate the effort that the owner has gone through. Has free internet but the speed was spotty. Did not take away from the experience in the least!...

Its nearly 700 steps (that's steps not paces) up the mountain to the lodge. , and about another 350 or so up to the higher viewpoints over the rice terraces. The climb is ameliorated by the fact that your cases will be carried up and down ( by women , some of whom appear quite old) and that some of...
