loved the feel of the all wood rooms. They were also very large! Great views as well. Quite the trek up so I recommend you only bring a day bag. There is a restaurant on site so convenient. They also have karaoke.
Visited as part of a g-adventures tour, the rooms are a good size, ours 2401 had great views of the rice terraces. The beds are hard, but that is standard in China, good free WiFi. There is no sound proofing between the rooms or floors, but the shower was good, powerful and hot although being the standard wet room meant everything gets wet. The food was great, the beers reasonable, the wine expensive, after the first bottle we bought ours from the supermarket across the street, it seems perfectly acceptable in many Chinese restaurants to bring your own wine. You will need to walk up to the guest house from the carpark, didn't count but maybe around 300 steps so pack light.
So there I was, a young fresh faced traveller weary from his journey searching for a roof over my head and something to eat. When I walked in through the doors of Jimmy and Robin's illustrious hotel, however, I got so much more than just shelter and food. I got food for my soul. Jimmy is perhaps the most hilarious, kind man you will ever meet and was such an incredible host. Robin is equally warm and welcoming and so much fun to be around - as well as being an immensely talented chef. From the moment I arrived to the moment I left, I felt like I had been welcomed into their home with open arms and treated like a friend. If you're ever in these parts, to not visit Jimmy and Robin's place would be a cardinal sin for which you shall burn eternally in hell. I entered the place a boy, but with Jimmy and Robin's care, I left as a man and ventured forth into the world refreshed, rejuvenated and well cared for. 谢谢！…
Is hotel is run by a a young couple who are very friendly. The hotel has a young fun feel to it. The room on 4f facing the valley is fabulous. Beautiful views, spacious and decent plumbing. Downstairs there is a fully stocked bar and lots of board games to keep you entertained. You will need to order breakfast the night before. It's reasonably priced. We also got sandwiches for our walk for 20. Woukd definitely recommend.
The room itself was a good size, comfortable and clean!! What really let us down was the communal area - which was shut most of the time!! After reading other reviews we were looking for some good hosts but unfortunately they were not very chatty and didn't go out of their way to improve our stay. It's disappointing when in the middle of the day the cafe area is closed as you then have no place near to just chill out in. Several times we tried to go in (at reasonable times) and it was closed. Maybe if there were more people staying there it would have been open more, although there was a festival on when we went so not sure what could have changed this.
