This caravan park has The flashest bathrooms and amenities that I have ever seen in a van park. Laundry facilities are extra extraordinary and no cash needed you just tap your debit card or credit card off you go. There are many machines both washing and dryers and they are spotlessly clean and very new. The kitchen is incredible and almost as good as your own which is very rare in a park. The view if you're lucky enough to get a beachfront spot as we did is glorious. It looks out to the Bay of Plenty and White Island. Everything about this park is lovely. There are plenty of bins plenty of bathrooms great kitchen facilities. Plenty of everything. There is good coffee from the coffee shop and home-made gelato. You can't ask for more! I would be back in a heartbeat.

As a regular visitor, I really don't want to share this special place with the world but I guess that it has to be shared..... In a little known town called Opotiki, ISLAND VIEW CAMPSITE really is world class. Guests are welcomed and accommodated with exceptional local hospitality - the 'accomodaters' treat one like family, the facilities are modern, clean and well looked after and the beach location is beautiful, and cleaner, than most in the world. The campsite is clean, spacious and well managed and rooms are so well equipped that as a family we don't have to pack much at all. For modern comfort, there is everything that one could wish for - from an onsite cafe, boujee bathrooms, automated laundry, weber BBQ's, tennis courts, heated swimming pools and kids playgrounds. We are hooked, and unfortunately once you visit you probably will be too :(

Awesome Campground. Attention to detail is amazing. Ladies toilets are luxurious with beautiful gold rimmed mirrors, tiled showers and beautiful Morrigan and Tibetan singing bowls for sinks. There is even a laundromat on site. Tennis courts, swimming pool plus right on beautiful Waiotahi Beach. Staff incredibly friendly and helpful and the coffee was top notch from the Cafe . Highly recommend.

Stayed one night in a cabin and asked to leave the car on our friends site while we went for a bush walk the next day. Upon returning we were invited for a cup of tea by friends on their site and a staff member approached and asked us to leave. This was off season and quiet with less than 50 % occupancy. She also stated that she had had a complaint from the cleaners which, when questioned, pertained to us leaving wine bottles outside our cabin by the bin. We had washed and dried all dishes, tidied up and left the place tidy so felt this was unreasonable and there was also no signage. The cabin cost was $200 for the one night for 4 adults without kitchen or bathroom. We are mature travellers and have years of camping experience who won’t be staying there again or recommend to friends.

They have nailed the island style - lots of lush mature gardens. There is a quirkiness to the place as well with little surprises everywhere. The campground is well-appointed and clean. It was a short walk to the beach for surf casting and sunsets. The cycle trail is effortless and accessible from the campground. We biked to Opotiki and northwards to the Ohiwa harbour which was all up about 25km. The coffee was great.

Been taking my children to this camp site for 13 years. It's proper old school camping, very relaxed, great staff, not too many rules, just common sense and consideration. The facilities are fantastic! Always something being upgraded or new being built. Almost everything is included in your fee, so you're not spending a fortune on extras. Pool, tennis court, volleyball, kayaks, and amazing icecream. We'll be back!!

Tropical landscaping, colourful facilities, brand new laundry, Weber bbqs, hot showers and WiFi included. We stayed in a standard cabin (4 berth), it was large with a full sized fridge. There was a covered kitchen and dining space shared between 5 cabins. Short walk to the beach, free kayaks, swimming pool, tennis court and playground. We had a great time! Would recommend to other families!

Lorne, Mel and the team at Island View are fantastic. The camp offers so much.......tropical vibe with super clean amenities, free showers, pool, tennis court, childrens playground, gelato bar at the shop, beautiful beach with surf lifesaving and not packed out, close to Opotiki for supplies and much much more and the new year celebration they put on is out of this world. Our 3rd year there and we will be back for many more.

We had booked backpackers but were surprisngly upgraded to a private and spacious cabin. a shared bathroom and kitchen area were immediately outside but the cabin had all the comforts of a motel room such as coffee plunger, modern TV, fresh linen, towels etc. We will definitely stay again and choose this level of accommodation. Didn't use the tennis court or other amenities but looked great

100% Yes. Just experienced a Studio Beach Front, all back up linen, Towels, Blankets and Pillows. I'm pretty confident that ever if the teenagers wanted some for there tent "They're look after them well" No problem.
There are more places to choose from in the Opotiki area.
