We booked the accommodation 15 days in advance via Booking.com, which authorized our card. Payment was scheduled upon arrival at the accommodation, and the card served as "insurance" in case of non-payment. Check-in at the accommodation is scheduled from 4 p.m. onwards, so we left Dalmatia in the morning to arrive at the accommodation between 4 and 5 p.m. Somewhere halfway, exactly at 1:00 p.m., we received an email from Booking that the host could not authorize our card (which was already authorized by Booking) and that we have 2 hours to update the information, otherwise our reservation would be cancelled. Immediately after receiving the email, we re-entered the already correct and authorized data, but around 1:15 p.m. the owner of the accommodation calls us to say that he has already rented our room. Allegedly, he sent the notice at 10 a.m., not at 1 p.m. when it reached us. It's quite incredible that nowadays mail travels for exactly 3 hours :) Therefore, I absolutely do not recommend this accommodationa, especially if it's not fun for you to be without accommodation halfway to Istria and to look for a place to spend the night during the busiest time for the Arctic Monkeys concert, which was held at that time and for which the most hotels and apartments were already booked.…
Amazing experience. Our hosts were very kind and helpful. Their restaurant is also great if you want to indulge in local istrian cuisine. The beach is a short drive away. The place is indeed in a rural area so you get to stay away from all the tourist madness :)
We asked to see the restaurants menu and we were refused. No explanation, the service apparently does not know a word in English. We were unpleasantly surprised as we wanted to check if they have the roasted pig they advertised.
An unforgettable experience of staying in the region of "Green Istria"! Đurđa and Marino were perfect hosts who fulfilled all our gastronomic desires. Beautiful place to stay. Excellent value. Heartily reccomended!
My wife and I went to Pula for a concert on Thursday and decided to spend weekend around Pula. Therefore Rural Pension Istra was a great choice for us. Immediately upon arrival and after a quick chat with the owner we were informed that we are supposed to be in our room every day at the latest 2300?! At 2300 the main courtyard is locked in order to preserve peace and security of other guests. That is reasonable and would not be a problem if we have been informed about this house rule. Although the room was booked via booking.com and although I had a telephone conversation with the owner prior to our arrival - no one mentioned it. Next day we had to look for a new accommodation, what was tough task considering that Croatian coast is overcrowded in August.
My husband and I stayed at this relaxing country inn for almost a week. We stayed in a bedroom larger than our living room at home. Breakfasts were fresh and plentiful including homemade breads and jams. The place is clean, comfortable with beautiful furnishings. The best part were our hosts: Georgia and Marino. They attended to our every request from the smallest needle to a large jar of fig jam, and had great suggestions for day trips. We really did feel like royalty!
