An average hostel (also known as Dona Zoila) which could do with a lick of paint but inexpensive, and with pleasant staff. Some booking websites give the impression that this is in San Juan city; it is actually in San Agustin de Valle Fertil, a village about 250 km. NE of San Juan in the province of the same name. This is a good starting point for the attractions of Valle de la Luna (Moon Valley) and Talampaya. The village is so quiet and presumably crime-free that the hostel allows the main door to be open at night---useful if you need to catch an early morning bus (and believe me, the time table back to San Juan is sadistic!) Try not to be put off by the black beetles---they are not cockroaches and seem to be harmless. More
