Enjoyed 3 nights here! Great staff, bathrooms fine unlike most of the reviews here, best air conditioning ive come across! Didnt have the inc breakfast as out late so unable to comment on that, other than that great place to stay and only seconds away from the Danube
We booked a double room for 2 nights. Our room was a little small but everything seemed to work, at first. We had a nice view of the Danube and a balcony. Bathroom was a bit small but clean. Real problems arose when we decided to shower. The shower had no means of adjustment and faced horizontally. That meant you had to hold it in your hand to shower. Worst of all, the water was just warm. No matter how long you waited, there was no hot water! When we complained, we were told that no-one else had a problem, but they agreed to move us to another room. The new room was a little larger, with no balcony. However, there was still no hot water. We were told that the temp was set at 50. It was only just warm enough to shower, but really! Am I asking too much in the 21st century to expect hot water? Bulgarian friends of mine checked this hotel out on BG sites and found loads of complaints about the water... so this is clearly hotel policy. Hence the very low rating. I really wanted to write a favourable review; the location is convenient and the staff seemed pleasant, but come on! The restaurant at the side shares the same name but we were told it was independent, so I'll review it separately.…
Just got a cappuccino in the bar. Quick service, nice server. Did not accept credit cards or U.S., which I should have checked before I ordered, so that's my fault, not theirs. I explained and asked for an ATM, the pointed the way and a walked a short block to one and got some local currency to pay the bill and tip open until midnight on a Monday, in a town that didn't have much open, so that was nice.
Excellent location, nice room, friendly staff and good service. For my business trip this is the perfect combination after exhausting day at work with high ambient temperature. There are small remarks about bathroom, but I can handle it.
Do not go to this hotel , place is dirty and not worth the money you pay for! Upon arrival me and my friend was put in the tiniest room possible, the bathroom was about 1 square metre and between the shower and the sink there was about 30 centimetres! We decided that we couldnt have that room so we upgraded to a bigger one which was pretty much the same , the shower was a bit bigger but we had to pay double money! One of us had to sleep on the sofa because the bigger rooms were only doubles! We went to the Sky bar to have a drink and we decided we was a bit hungry only to get a response from the waitress "its not my job go to ask someone else at the restaurant area" very rude! You even had to pay 20p to use the toilet downstairs which is ridiculous as we paid so much money to stay in there! Food was avarage but everything was just too salty , we asked to have less salt but we got told that it was prepared and marinated in salt so there was nothing they could do about it! Avoid this place because you will be very dissapointed! Outragous!…
Grate location about 50m from both the old town city gatte and Danubiu. The fortress is some 400 m a way and Main Street abot the same. Best restaurants in the city are in walking distances. Rooms are small but clean, recently refurbished on a budget. We paid 24 Eur/night for a duble room.
Stated at the hotel for a night before embarking on finishing cycling the Danube. Good location near the River. Rooms clean but generally the decor a bit tired and dated, reminiscent of former Communist times. Staff efficient but brusque with the exception of the Receptionist who was friendly! Breakfast fairly simple, fried eggs and ham etc but did the trick. Mention of bar being open until 2am..fortunately not on our stay but did get some sort of disturbance emanating from the car park at 4am which wasn't ideal but that's a location thing rather than the Hotel. If you are reading this and planning on doing the Danube to the Black Sea you would likely reminisce about how good Vidin was compared to what awaits you..! Oh lastly forgot to mention my slightly cryptic title...rather unusual large selection of viewing on the room Tv that would be unsuitable for your mother, children or those of a very conservative disposition! …
Easily walkable from the bus and train stations.. The staff is helpful and can understand English and meet your needs. The rooms are clean. There is good Bulgarian food in the restaurant attached. Near the Danube and the fort.
Went to the resturant and bar, its disgusting that clients using the facilities are charged to use the toilet everytime. Like a cheap scam. Waitresses are bored and rude, chips came long before my steak? Asked to settle bill half way through the meal and they werent even closing? Would have ordered more had waiting staff been available to wait tables. Needs a lot of improvement and a shame for the beautiful and friendly town that is Vidin
