Spacious rooms with comfortable bed. Good shower room. Clean and surprisingly quiet considering it is on a main road. Very good for a budget hotel with the added advantage of two good pubs for meals close by.

Small Travfelodge, but very comfortable and the staff excellent. special mention to Kris Anderson, Ellie and Lindsey. Good location and nice restaurant in the same building at reasonable prices. Quiet location away from the town and it was good for us to exsplore other parts of the region and along the East coast visiting Sunderland Newcastle Midlesborough as well as... More

Where were visiting beamish museum, so we wanted somewhere close to stay and we found this while looking. The staff were welcoming and our room was a very good size! The room was clean and next door was a restaurant, which was very good value for money.

This little Travel Lodge is great. The staff could not be friendlier or more welcoming and helpful, whilst still maintaining proper relationship with customer. Our room was big, spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Located very well for Beamish Museum, Washington WWT and other attractions and visits. There is a great Asian restaurant just down the road, within easy walking distance,... More

We stayed one night whilst a friend was competing in the Great North Run. Although slightly out of the way of the city, it was ideal for getting in and out of Newcastle. The pub next door was very nice and although we did not eat the food looked good

Very welcoming staff who were so kind and helpful. Clean, comfortable room, with good amenities - especially for the price. Very pleased overall but I don't understand why there is no arrangement with the pub next door to do breakfast. The hotel offers breakfast packs but had nothing I would want.

The lodge was a lovely old building very clean and the staff very friendly and helpful. The Reason I didn't give it 5 was because our room was very warm and stuffy on a day when temperatures were only 19c and you couldn't open the window much. I thought the lighting wasn't sufficient and struggled to read. Could also do... More

Not value for money, was over charged for the room. Basically I think for the price I payed was not cheap for just a bed for the night. Breakfast for £4.95 in like pre packed cereal and muffin and a fruit juice no option for a cooked breakfast as they don't do it.

An older building but clean and comfortable. Ideal for visiting Durham, Beamish and the Newcastle area. Would be excellent if rooms upgraded with modern showers and beds. Average mark given as bathroom smelt due to stale Shower Curtain.
