I recently visited Jispa for some official work with my colleagues and stayed in this hotel for a night. The location is good - on the main Manali-Leh road next to the bhaga river, overlooking the snow covered mountains. The staff is very good and cooperative. The food is very good, we tried some Indian and Chinese dishes, both were equally good. Breakfast was not part of the package. People travelling from the plains - please note the hotel doesn’t provide room heaters; all you get is extra blankets and hot water bag, but it was enough during the time we visited (minimum temperature was around 0 to 1 degree in the evening). Rooms are little old style with no balcony, however they are comparable to the other options available in Keylong and Jispa. No room service available, however the staff was happy to serve some momos to us in our room.

Overall I would recommend this place to people visiting Jispa or Keylong.

Pictures of view from the hotel and the Bhaga river across the road.

Basic facilities in the rooms, although hot water tank takes approximately 30 minutes to heat. Rooms are sufficient (i.e., not large, but not small). Dining room with sufficient and tasty selection. Friendly and helpful staff.

Two nights at this family run establishment during a group tour.
Due to the devastating floods and evacuations ten days previously in Kullu valley area ,this small townlet was VERY peaceful ,no groups in the tent camps and most of the eateries closed. We all ate at the hotel ,food being traditional ,tasty and reasonable price.Breakfast choices excellant.
Rooms simple. Spacious .
Good amount of properly functioning sockets.
Some rooms have kettles.Good amount of bedding provided, all clean.
No WiFi when we were there , due to the disruptive force of nature as I gathered they do have.

we stayed for 1 night on our way to leh from manali, we got late and reached hotel at 11 o clock in night but to our surprise they kept our food ready and served us hot fresh food and that hot food made our night most comfortable.
Rooms are basic but big in size.
take room with river view is best
over all good positive place to stay in Jispa

Most people who are traveling to Leh from Chandigarh would usually break their journey at Manali. For those like me who have been to Manali numberous times, I'd seriously recommend to strech your journey by 100 odd kms and make a run for Jispa for your night halt. Jispa is a beautiful town located in Lahaul district of HP providing the most stunning views of the surrounding Mountains. Hotel Ibex is located exactly on the highway to Leh. My check in process was smooth and hassle free. I found the tariff a bit on the higher side but that was OK since we had heard about this hotel and did not want to compromise on our stay. For food, they have a buffet or you can order on a la carte basis. I'd suggest to go for their buffer since they have a lot of varieties. As expected, the food was piping hot and delicious. The rooms were basic but a good nights sleep is guaranteed. If you are not short on time, you can even spend a full day here and then proceed towards Leh. Since most of the tourists leave pretty early in the morning, they made sure that breakfast is ready and was promptly served to us. Overall I was pretty satisfied with my stay and would definitely stay again.

This hotel is located in a very pictureque location right on the highway. After a long, tedious drive the hotel is heaven sent. I would recommend for anybody to stay here rather than in Sarchu, because the weather is much more hospitable here and your chances of suffering AMS is much more at Sarchu than in Jispa. The room that we stayed in was in the second floor, was quite clean with running hotwater. The restaurant served some chilled beer and a nice spread of buffet dinner. After dinner you can walk along the picturesque highway which is sorrounded by majestic mountains. The scenery is breathtaking.

Location is very good, but as a hotel and hospitality it is too bad in all standards. We have booked prior to three months in advance in the month of May for our stay in August. As we get in the hotel at night around 20:30, we talked to the receptionist, he said they had to accommodate a group of 18-20 people that is why only one room is available in this hotel other two rooms are placed 2 kilometre away from there in some other hotel. We were six people standing out at night in biting cold for 1 nd half hour exhausted by the 12 hour road trip from Manali. However, we showed our patience and waited outside the hotel, in the due time, the receptionist talked to the booking manager(Mr. Rajesh Kalpra) on this regards. When the phony conversation between the receptionist and the booking manager(Mr. Rajesh Kalpra) was finished he repeated the same story. Since we were too tired and hungry, we agreed to move into another hotel.
Only two people amongst us stayed at this hotel and 4 others moved in another resort located at a distant place two Km away. There were as usual no rooms available. We(four people) spent the whole night in Two tents!!! (though we had the booking for 2 double bed rooms).
Four people those who spent in tents couldn't have had their good night sleep because of chilling wind coming through tent cover and floor.
Later we talked to the booking manager of this hotel, the fowl language that he put is unspeakable in this forum. Mr Rajesh Kalpra knew very well his wrong deeds and stands, but his mismanagement had put us in this worse circumstances. Therefore I personally feel very bad and will advice others not to stay here; even if you get no rooms available in Jispa, look after other options, but don't stay at Hotel Ibex.

If you're travelling the Manali Leh highway you know there aren't many options. I just wanted to put other travelers' minds at ease - this hotel is perfectly comfortable and is probably the best option in Jispa / Sarchu. Your alternative is a tent camp. We weren't impressed by what looked like a vomit stain near the matress on the floor that they provided for our 3rd person, but no one's perfect. Hot water is not 24-hours and you might want to check that they switch it on when you arrive if you plan on cleaning up in the evening. The food is good, the tea is great, and the staff is really friendly.

We have booked 2 rooms 4 months in advance and another 1 a month before our stay dates. The communication over the email with the booking contractor (the only person to contact for bookings) Mr. Rajesh Karpa acknowledged our advance payment and assured us of our rooms being booked for us. On our booking day we were supposed to reach Jispa by night as we started from Manali a bit late. Few hours before Jispa (after getting down from Rohtang Pass), we called Rajesh and he said our rooms are ready for us.
But when we reached the hotel a surprise was waiting for us. The manager was not there and we were asked to wait. On arrival, the manager said there is only 1 room available for us as our rooms have been given to a bigger group! The manager said he will arrange for some tented accommodations at other place, but why should we stay in tents when we have paid for rooms? And why will 2 of us will stay at one place and rest 4 at other when we have booked the place by paying advance as asked by Mr. Rajesh?
As there were no choice at that point of time, we were forced to stay in the tents which had wind leaking inside, making all 4 of us sick and spoiling the 1st leg of our Ladakh trip!
However, the manager at Ibex was a good person and he promised to keep rooms for us on our way back. He kept his promise. But when we asked Mr. Rajesh to compensate us for our loss (3 days of wastage of Leh trip) caused due to his mismanagement, he started using fowl language over the phone and instead asked us to adjust and pay the full amount! However, at manager's intervene, we were asked to pay only for the 1 room on our way to Lahad and 3 rooms on the way back. (The compensation was not for our monitory loss but to make them realize their mistake, something which is not pardonable in hospitality industry. YOU CANNOT GIVE SOMEBODY'S BOOKED ROOMS TO OTHERS!)
So, fellow travelers, be careful while opting for this hotel!
Rooms were OK, not value for money. Food was on the better side. Service provided by the staff was good.
I will never ever stay there again!

Stayed overnight here on the way to Leh from Manali.

Excellent location right on the road with the river in front but the upkeep can be better.
My room was full of flies in both the room and the bathroom.

Did not escalate as all I wanted was a place to keep my head and grab some grub.
Both requirements were met completely.

Plus point was the running hot water which in early October was heavenly!

Would I consider an extended stay there - probably not. Good for a one night stopover on the road to Leh.

I believe the route opens only in June firstly. It is pretty cold out there always. There are no outdoor activities here, its a place for a break en route Manali and Leh.
