Visited Chamba with my family in September, 2016. The property is set up on the top of the hill and there is a 20 minute steep hike up the mountain. They send their guys to help with the luggage which is very kind. Please remember, this is a home stay and not a guest house or hotel. The hospitality is... More

We had the good fortune to spend three nights recently at Orchard Huts, which is really not about huts at all, but more like a family inn. The guest rooms are spacious, each with a clean, modern bathroom. The hike down from the road, across a bridge over a pretty stream, and then up the mountain on the other side... More

I knew almost nothing about the Chamba valley or about Hinachal in general before I spent three nights at Himalayan Orchard Huts, and now I’m full of enthusiasm! The Dhami family who host this homestay all contribute their own particular skills to ensuring that the pleasures of Himachal are introduced to visitors like me who mostly know India’s “hyped” (and... This homestay is really THE complete package. Right from the moment you step out of the car and start the 30 minute trek up to the Dhami home, you know you're in for something special and unique. Pros:- 1) Authentic local Chamba home. You actually get to taste their local cuisine (Pahadi Khana) made with much care by Mrs. Dhami.... More

When the taxis pull up at the side of the road and you look at the walk up to Orchard Huts, it can be quite daunting but don't let this put you off. This is a delightful place to stay, if you are visiting the mountains of north west India. The staff welcome you as if you are a long... More

We had a truly wonderful time with this family in their eco lodge up in the hills. We felt welcomed into the family and at home here. We stayed for five nights in clean and comfortable accommodation. The food was locally sourced, much of it from their own land and completely delicious. After five days of fresh mountain spring water,... More
