Its a great peak into the luxurious life during colonial times. The staff is very friendly and will cook meals as per request. Lunch Buffet can get a bit expensive. The place was a bit difficult to locate, however totally worth the effort.

Great Property with big rooms, very good food and services, activities like billiards, carom, badminton and pool were also available. The property's manager Mr. Mahipal Singh and his team was very courteous and helpful. He had excellent knowledge of local area and areas in Haryana. It's a small charming heritage property located just short of Hissar. It was formerly owned by James Skinner of Skinner's Horse fame and has large grounds all around. Peacocks are in abundance. Rooms are large. Most of the furniture & display pieces seem dated... Food was homely & well-prepared. Slightly pricey but no reason to complain. Stick to Indian. There's...

This is a heritage property and we visited for one night to break a long driving trip. It's pretty well maintained, although some of the furniture seemed a bit knocked about, and there was peeling paint in a few places. Our room was pretty large (right next to the front door), with a large and firm bed with good linen,...

We were in Sheikhpura Kothi over an extended weekend in October 2015 and booked a deluxe room for my parents and the lone suite for ourselves since no other rooms were available. There are only 7 rooms here which is probably a good things for those seeking peace and quiet. Sheikhpura Kothi is ideal for people wanting to get away...

The stunning marble staircase greets you as you walk up to the rooms with gorgeous view of the fields and the pool. The decor and the furniture took us back to the time when the Zamindar used to live there. Exquisite pieces dotted the rooms and the hallway and the dome like stricture takes your breath away. And all this...

There a very few places within striking distance for a weekend getaway from Gurgaon. Don't get me wrong there are lots of options if your prepared to drive about 6 hours and quite a few just on the outskirts. Neither of these seem to fit my bill though. Here's why - anything in the 6 hour plus range needs a...

A 3 hour drive from Delhi this is a nice weekend getaway. Inside an extensive property there is a nice swimming pool and games like badminton to play. Great if you have your own group to spend time with. As to the food, the home cooked food is really nice. However, beware of so-called Chinese food or even the mess...

Welcome Heritage Sheikhpura kothi is a well maintained heritage property around 3 hrs from Delhi and like boutique hotels...it has limited number of rooms(7 rooms)! However, the rooms are big and well decorated and obviously done up in the traditional royal way with four poster beds, lamps etc. The property has french architecture on the outside with pillars and high ceilings...

“There are a total of seven room. Two rooms, they are small.Queens bed can sleep only one person.Other rooms are very spacious with large bathrooms.Since the Kothi is located in a 150 acre plot,it is very isolated. But location is surrounded by greenery all round with peacocks roaming around.I am told they grow vegetables in winter and let guest children pluck the veg they would like to eat.The cooks then cook the same for the days menu. Only thing I feel about is tarrif which is a little high, specially for August period when rains prevent you from outings.”
