The erstwhile bungalow of the famous Assamese tea planter Hemen Barooah, Burra Sahib's Bungalow is located amidst lush tea gardens about an hour's drive from both Jorhat and Kaziranga. Truth be told, we went there with the sole aim of having lunch on its green lawns and we weren't disappointed. Being a Sunday, there were other day visitors like us,... More

Nestled amongst the tea gardens, this is a beautiful property with a well maintained golf course. Did not stay overnight but had a stopover for lunch. Food of course is not out of the world, but decent food served with a lot of care. The ambiance is simply wonderful. The individual cottages, which we checked, had all the modern amenities... More

Surely, It will transform your memory to the colonial phases. Huge lawns, very well maintained rooms, victorian style dining room, a old style bar, pool, a huge 18-hole golf course..and amidst beautiful tea gardens, it's a place you don't wanna miss while coming to Jorhat. It will take around 20 min by car from Jorhat main town. Formerly , a... More

The Golf course though extremely challenging due to narrow fairways, undulating ground, punishing roughs and deep bunkers, the maintenance of the fairways as also the rest of the course leaves a lot to be desired. Hazards are unmarked, many green side bunkers have grass in them, distance markers are confusing(mostly measured from the centre of the greens). While the greens... More

Tea Estate manager's bungalow converted to a golf club + holiday resort & hence the name "Burra Sahib's" bungalow. The golf course is 18-hole, one of the largest out of the 23 odd golf courses spread all across Assam & one of the toughest as well, owing to the fact that it spreads amidst tea thickets; it's basically a golfer's... The first thing that strikes you as soon as you enter the hotel is the mind blowing setting of beautifully landscaped golf course in the midst of a tea garden. Peace and tranquility rules this place, and as far as you can see there are tea gardens and greenery. The hotel main building was actually the tea garden managers house... More

I had visited this place with my family for lunch from Jorhat. This is an old bungalow and well maintained. A golf course is in front of the bungalow and golf cottages on one side. This place is also known as KAZIRANGA GOLF RESORT. The entry fee was Rs 250 per head for visitors and Rs. 150 was adjusted with... More
