There is really very little you can say about this near perfect destination hotel. A great location for visiting the Ranthambore national park but also offers a level of quiet sophistication in the hustle and bustle of rural India.

The resort is set within its own discreet area near the end of a dirt road which also houses the entrances to other resort hotels e.g the Relais and Chateaux Suján Sher Bagh resort. But don’t worry you made the right decision to stay at Aman-i-Khas!

You enter via a small discreet turning into a courtyard and and walk into the main area of the camp where food is served and the main path to the tents and the pool also begins. To note there is also a large vegetable garden - well worth a look and part of the sustainability offer and where some of the veg comes from.

Then on to your room - amazing, huge tented rooms offering a separate sitting area, bedroom and bathroom shower area. There are even Japanese style Toto loos! There is an additional seating area between the room and outside and also seating outside the tent. Fully air-conditioned with everything you could want including USB ports and a call button for your allocated staff member - referred to as your batman. Plenty of purified, bottled water, and a great laundry service.

The resort itself is on some 18 acres. There are only a dozen or so rooms, but it has all the facilities you would expect from a larger resort. A great pool and outdoor dining and seating areas.

As you would expect fabulous staff who know exactly what they are doing. Wonderful food. Great spa and therapists.

Tiger spotting
Good local excursions into the national park arranged by Aman with excellent drivers and guides. The park has a sophisticated timed entry system within the 500sq miles divided into 10 zones. A number of these zones are entered via the main gate. You are allocated a time and a zone - you need to enter at that time and leave that zone by the required time. The times are generally 4 hour slots - early morning; later morning; early afternoon and late afternoon. We were booked for early morning visits departing the hotel at 6:15am and I think it was worth taking the early morning trips. We stayed for a number of nights, so had three early morning visits booked each into a different zone so we covered three areas of the park. We were lucky enough to see tigers on two of our visits.

We had the same guide and driver for each trip who knew what they were doing and where they were going in each zone. The Aman supplies binoculars and a good quality camera with telephoto lens to each guide and you can use both or let the guide take photos while you watch the real thing. The Aman then sends you a photo dump of everything taken. What more could you ask for.

Simply perfection! Our Batman Rakesh arrived at our hotel in Delhi to escort us to the train station. He was amazing and cared for our needs the entire trip. He is a large part of what made everything so special. The train areas can be frenetic so having him guide you and selecting porters to assist was critical. He served us a breakfast the hotel had prepared as we enjoyed the views. Once arriving these tents are magnificent and beyond well appointed. Each one is so spacious with luxurious bedding and bath items. Heated blankets Felice The showers are surprisingly warm with great water pressure. The jeeps they use for safari are far superior than any we saw and so comfortable. For the morning ride they had shawls, blankets, hot water bottles etc to keep you warm. The drivers are exceptional and they have a contract with certainty guides. We were fortunate to see the tigers but even had we not all the other animals and landscape would have been satisfying. The guides and drivers work hard to assist in locating the tigers. The food service is nice with my favorite being the day the chef grilled numerous items outside and you choose from delicious meats, seafoods and vegetables. They are happy to prepare anything you wish. A visit to the chefs garden will inspire you about all the options. Yoga by the pool was nice as was the fire pit in the evening. This was a remarkable experience and one we will not forget. The Aman team, the regal tents and stunning nature makes this a must on any bucket list.

This was such a fun experience !
Glamping in a beautiful tented resort with only 10 tents each with their own attendant ( a “ Batman” ), who takes care of everything for you and with you whilst you’re there.
Large, elegant, temperature controlled accommodation with every creature comfort you’d need including a Toto smart toilet and lovely concrete tub.
Thoughtful and classy furnishings beautifully arranged with king beds and a lounging and dining area and two verandahs.
All 10 tents are identical and well spaced so as to ensure privacy.
Never in anyone’s way, it feels like your own private camp and a la carte dining that was excellent, complimentary laundry service each day ( no limits ), and small little details such as water bottles/hot water bottles to keep warm on safari along with a box of snacks. Warm towels and a cup of tea each time we returned back to camp from our fruitless trips to find elusive tigers.
A beautiful pool and spa.
Our only complaint is the heated tents have hot dry air circulating in a completely closed tent with little fresh air and no humidification. This made sleeping impossible as our airways were so dry and parched and we both coughed and hacked through the nights and were ( unfortunately) happy to be out in the fresh air each morning. In the colder months this could be problematic for many, but hopefully the property will see fit to do better with the HVAC in the winter.
Organic farm-gardens grow all the fresh produce and flowers, and the solar panels provide more than enough electricity to run the resort and keep it beautifully lighted.
Wonderful staff.
A great experience as long as you don’t expect to see a tiger as this is extremely unpredictable !

Impressive amount of thought and attention to detail for all aspects of our experience; from the spacious tent, multiple seating areas, deeply comfortable bed and pillows, to the bathroom amenities and the delicious food.

The care and attention by our “Batman” and every single member of the staff for whatever need we could possibly conjure was overwhelming. It speaks to a focus on great leadership and training, and set a standard by which our future hotel/resort travel will be judged.

One word of advice to those planning on taking a safari-book through Aman-I-Khas. It is worth every penny to have a private tour using their driver (ours had 25+ years of experience) and the contracted naturalist. On our two safaris (one early morning, one late afternoon), we saw two different tiger families (multiple broods and the father) which was beyond our wildest hopes. But most importantly, the driver and naturalist worked seamlessly to position us in the best places within the zones for the optimum experience. Their insight into how the tigers would move was uncanny and resulted in us observing the tigers’ behaviors for several hours. The icing on the cake is that the naturalist took many amazing photos which Aman-I-Khas provided us as a part of our experience.

We stayed for two nights at the Aman-I-Kas property while on a two week Abercrombie and Kent trip through India. The other properties we stayed at were Oberois. The Oberoi hotels are ornate and beautiful, but the Amon is unlike anywhere I have ever stayed before.
There are only 10 tents on the property and they are all the same. Remember the Harry Potter movie where he walks into a regular tent and inside is a huge luxurious space with multiple rooms? These tents are like that. There are dual vanities, a Toto washlet, stone soaking tub, plenty of charging stations, AC/heat, and multiple sitting areas.
The best part of our stay was our Batman, Veru. Batman is a very old term for essentially a butler in India. He brought us our requested tea, coffee, and pastries at 6:15 in the morning before our game drive started at 6:45. When we returned to the property four hours later after our first game drive, I asked if we could do a couples massage before lunch (those Jeep rides were bumpy!) and the staff immediately made it happen. I had an Ayurvedic massage and it was the best massage I’ve ever had. Other highlights are the outstanding Indian food (they have a western menu but we did not try this), nightly musicians, beautiful pool and organic gardens.
The wildlife in this area is spectacular; and rivals Africa. Of course there are bears and tigers, as well as crocodiles and many species of deer. The folks at Aman made sure we were comfortable on the game drives by sending us with blankets, hot water bottles, tea and pastries on the chilly mornings, and cold water and sandwiches in the afternoon. The also provided safari hats and face cloths to help with the sun and dust. An incredible experience.

I am writing to express my profound disappointment and dissatisfaction regarding the experience I encountered during my stay at Aman I-khas. I stayed at their establishment from March 2 to March 4, 2024, and I must say it was one of the most disappointing experiences of my life.

One of the reasons for my stay was to explore the wildlife park and engage in horseback riding, as advertised on your website (see attached). However, upon arrival, I encountered several issues. Firstly, when I booked a one-hour horseback riding session, there was no helmet available in my size, posing a safety concern.

During the ride, our group faced several hazardous situations. Young people on motorcycles approached the horses at high speed, causing my guide to fall. Additionally, we traversed areas littered with waste and narrow paths where tractors passed by at high speeds, endangering the safety of all participants (see attached).

Upon my return to the hotel, I immediately expressed my concerns to the General Manager. I explained to the GM that it was his responsibility to ensure that the proposed route was safe and that it aligned with the conditions advertised on the website.

However, he refused to take responsibility for the situation, citing that the horses were subcontracted from another company. Despite my requests, no compensatory measures were offered for this disastrous experience.

This experience is in stark contrast to what is promoted on their website.

Furthermore, it is unacceptable that the establishment fails to take necessary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of its guests.

It appears that Aman lacks sensitivity in ensuring guests have an extraordinary experience and taking responsibility for any shortcomings.

This time, our Aman experience started with meeting Bijay, our “batman”, at New Delhi train station. He accompanied us on the ride to Sawai Madhopur, took care of us during our stay and brought us back to Delhi. He was serious about his job and responsibilities, but always had a smile on his face (like Bianca, the fantastic Yoga teacher, had taught us), and lived the warm hospitality special to Aman. The camp is located just outside Ranthambore Park’s boundaries, nature is abundant, with deer strolling through the camp after sunset and birds delivering a soothing soundtrack. The safaris are well organised, staffed with experienced guides and skilled drivers (“road” conditions can be rough in the park). The tents are extremely comfortable and perfectly maintained by housekeeping staff throughout the day. The restaurant serves Western and Indian food. We had Indian choices only from a nice selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. It is among the best Indian food we have ever had. Guests gather at the fireplace before dinner enjoying to be one with nature (as much as can be in a luxury camp). The pool is nice, too, and the massage therapists are very professional. In short, we had an experience we will fondly look back to for our lifetime. Special greetings to Bijay - we miss you already!

One of the worst properties to stay at! They have so much snob value and they treat you as though they are paying you to stay there. Frightfully expensive and not all value for money. All it includes is food and a stupid butler who dosent answer your calls half the time. There is no connectivity except a phone connecting you to the butler which dosent work most of the time. Being in a jungle with no one around this can be very tricky. Plus they make you sign a registration which says that if you are eaten up by a tiger it’s not their responsibility! Don’t waste your hard earned money! This place is horrid.Gave me sleepless nights…

This the only place to stay in Ranthambore if you can afford it. The place is amazing as is the service. Unlike so many places where the staff is poorly trained, the Aman shines above. The tents are very large and are replaced every 3 years, so the tent looked brand new even though I do not know the last time mine was replaced. They keep the inside extremely clean. The food is excellent regardless of whether you want western or Indian, and although they have a daily menu, they will make you whatever you want. Viru was our Batman and took great care of us. And based on other reviews, I’m sure the others are also very good too. Aman gets priority at the national park to the better zones, but we did encounter issues due to a strike at the park. Since we had to enter far from the main gate, they even arranged for us to go by a comfortable Ford suv to the only place we could still get in. The safari vehicles are not comfortable and roomy like those in Africa, but that’s all you will see there. At least they were very clean. The good news was there was a mating pair of tigers in that zone. I’ve stayed at other high end places in Ranthambore in the past, and there just was no comparison to Aman. My only gripe was the dim lighting in the tent. All Aman’s have dim lighting, but I’ll give them a pass since it’s a tent, and not a hotel. Don’t look elsewhere if you want the best experience.

Our family stayed at Aman-i-Khas over the New Year and we were blown away by the beauty, service and attention to detail. I cannot sing their prices highly enough, from the beautiful, spacious tents with Toto toilets and heated blankets to the attentive and incredible staff we were truly blown away. Our "batmen" Kuldeep and Chand looked after our every need from organising travels outside the camp to personalised dinners and safaris, no detail was overlooked and we were truly spoilt. Anand the manager was always checking in with us and made sure every detail was checked., while the chef created amazing daily menus that kept us looking forward to every meal. I honestly can say this was one of the most magical and incredible stays and we were teary leaving. I cannot do justice to the experience, you need to visit to understand.
