About Posada Los Mangoes, i can tell you i had a very pleasant stay. Jose was more then helpful, and very good natured. The place is right on the beach and my room was very cozy. I enjoyed nice walks up the beach to a surf spot. I hope the economical situation will get better fast for the good people of Venezuela.

we had heard great things about los mangos and its fantastic beachfront location from a friend who had stayed there previously and was encouraged to visit. we were given a great price for our one month holiday. personally picked up from the airport by tatiana and jose and taken via the scenic route to los mangos.upon arrival we were taken to our room with its clean fresh tropical feel. meals were prepared freshly to order by tatiana and served on the terrace with its amazing full on sea views...i enjoyed the traditional seafood fosfeara soup also the pargo ..so fresh not too be missed..delicious and reasonably priced. jose and paul [the english proprietor] was also very helpfull they arranged a fantastic jeep safari around the island; also a tour to angel falls and the orinoco delta..where we saw lots of wildlife including the many wild dolphins.truely the land that time forgot!! not forgeting pauls gaurd dogs manga and tango who were great company..we are all ready planning our return trip!!!

We went along to Los Mangos because we met a guy in Playa El Agua who invited us along to meet Paul (the owner) and to have a few drinks. We ended up having a really great night at Los Mangos. The drinks were fabulous and the company amazing. The food also looked wonderful. We were already staying somewhere else but would have stayed here if we had known about it. We also would have gone back another night but unfortunately I got very sick and couldn't move from my room for a fortnight!

I happened to be looking for a place to stay and found Los Mangos in Margarita, Venezuela to be the most welcoming place. I am well over 60 years old and traveling alone, so I have to choose carefully. Yes, the beach is close by and very few people use it...the room was comfortable with own bath and tv, but what I really loved was the extended family I found there. Thank you to Paul, Taty, Jose and the boys running the bar, where I always had a glass of wine or two? WHERE IS MY FOOD? The food was fantastic and in Forty days I never had the same dish twice, Tatiana is the best cook in Margarita the breakfast was also good, And for lunch I just had fruit on the beach. I travelled like a native on communal taxi's and on the local buses, exchanged dollars on the black market and generally had fun. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality

We happened upon Los Mangos while researching for our tour of South America, and it looked so lovely we decided to come and visit. We were not disapponted. The Posada itself is fantastically located just a stones throw from the beach. We stayed in January which is the quiet season, but we liked this as it felt like we had the place to ourselves and Paul (the owner) was incredibly helpful and went above and beyond the duties of a Posada owner. All of the staff were friendly and helpful, nothing was too much for anyone! Tatijana is famous Island wide for her cooking and quite rightly so. Fosfera is her speciality (delicious) and when Paul says he has some fresh squid that will make great calamari he isn't lying. Despite the very generous portions you'll still want to eat more! One of the highlights of the stay was definately Manga and Tango (the Posada's dogs) and taking them for an early morning walk was very entertaining as Manga loves chasing the birds! The only downside is that in the rainy season it sometimes pours with rain and there isn't much else to do other than stay at the Posada and read. Thankfully the atmosphere at Los Mangos is so welcoming and relaxed, and the rooms so cosy and comfortable that a day spent chilling and reading is no great hardship. A wonderful start to our adventures. If time and money allows we'll visit again before flying back to the UK.
