Went there with another 2 couple friends and stayed for 2 nights in total - one in dunes & other in palace! Dunes stay is an experience which I will cherish for lifetime as it was... More

We attended a wedding here and it was splendid. We were taken up the dunes in a Camel cart. My child loved it. The Date palms planted around the dunes were resplendent and added to the desert Oasis like charm of the place. The food and service were very good. The rooms a very nice and ape a Village setting... What can I say about this but well worth the trip. This little oasis in the dessert is very beautifully done. The rooms are nothing short of 5 Star quality. The service excellent and the food very good. The journey from Jodhpur to Khimsar Fort takes under 2 hours by road. once at the Fort Hotel which itself is grand... More

The actual THAR desert is near Jaisalmer and they have managed to create one here artificially. The pond and the rooms are all done by modern tech and is great. It is open only during season - Oct - Mar. This is better than the Khimsar fort hotel. They have even managed to fence the dunes to maintain the privacy.

As the jeep enters the property (from Khimsar Fort Hotel) you immediately feel like you step into a whole different world. Guests have their own "huts", the... More

I wanted to experience the sand dunes and was very keen on getting a glimpse of the desert on my trip to Rajasthan. We could not visit Jaisalmer, so we decided to visit Khimsar Sand Dunes Village which in only few kms away from the fort. The place is like a small village with a pond in between the huts.
