This was our first visit to Vanghat as Corbett is closed during the monsoons and the resort is located in the buffer zone. It turned out be an excellent decision to come here. We enjoyed the trek to the resort and our stay was very...More

An easy 2km trek, culminating into a raft ride across the river is the most charming thing about this place. The river is where one would lounge through the day. Best time to visit is October to March. Lovely little trails and completely peaceful and...More

Even after visiting many other national parks, Jim Corbett gave me a whole different experience. Big thanks to The Vanghat Lodge. Vanghat is quite away from main Jim Corbett and is situated right in the middle of the Kalagarh Jungle with Ramganga flowing just in...More

About
Description
“There are events in one's life which, no matter how remote, never fade from memory.” These words of renowned conservationist, Jim Corbett will ring true after you experience the wilderness like never before. ...More A place where the river gushes in rapids, overhanging cliffs stage a predator-play game – of a deer or antelope escaping from the clutches of a tiger…the prowl, the ambush, and a thunderous roar spell the undisturbed wilderness of Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand. And offering an experience of nature at its best is an internationally acclaimed eco-friendly jungle camp, on the fringes of the tiger reserve in Ramganga Valley. Located in a secluded spot on western banks of the gushing Ramganga River, the very approach to this camp adds novelty to the stay. You need to hike for about 1.8 km along a trail through the lush wilderness which takes you to the banks of the river. From here, you will be ferried across on a bamboo raft towards the remote jungle camp. Conceptualized by an internationally acclaimed conservationist, the camp upholds principles of wildlife conservation measures as spearheaded by Jim Corbett. It offers five accommodations under two categories - Mud Cottages and Stone Cottages. Reflecting the tranquillity around, each cottage, with minimalist furnishings, comes equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. All activities within the camp are eco-conscious and in perfect synchronicity with the wilderness, to the extent that lighting in the dwellings is subdued so as not to disturb wildlife movements during twilight hours. By increasing the forest cover and widening the habitat to nurture endangered species found in the region, the camp has also been a pillar of support for some wildlife conservation NGOs in Uttarakhand. But the allure of this stay comes from what's around and how the host helps you experience it. If you wish to follow the trails that lead into the wilderness, the camp has a team of renowned naturalists and accommodating locals who will be your guide. Excursions on foot are encouraged the most, so as not to disturb the ethos around. Capture the sights and scenes of the rich flora and fauna through the lens. And if you come equipped with a pair of binoculars, which is highly recommended, you would even get to spot some rare species of exotic birds. Specially curated for wildlife enthusiasts, the nature walks here are conducted every morning and evening, giving you the opportunity to refresh and retire. And on prior request, you could also explore the Bijrani and Jhirna zones of the tiger reserve. As you journey through the wilderness, you may spot a leopard lounging on a low-hanging branch, or a sloth bear at a distance, busy scraping a tree-bark or scooping out honey. And somewhere in the wilderness, a tiger would be out on the prowl. With an opportunity to observe exotic and endangered wildlife in their natural habitat, a stay at this undisturbed jungle camp is sure to leave an indelible impression on you. Less

Hi till May end we focus a lot on early morning and evening hikes in the forest. By late morning we spend a lot of time in the cool water of the Ramganga, which is a very special experience. Nature lovers love it
