We just recently got back from a 3-night stay at Soneva Kiri and our experience was nothing short of magical. Where do I even begin? The whole experience was absolutely incredible from start to finish. Kicking off our holiday with a private plane flight was really unique, and we were absolutely blown away by the stunning location of the resort. We stayed at the Beach Pool Villa Suite, which exceeded all our expectations. Our barefoot guardian, Fon, was really lovely and she helped us craft a perfect itinerary for our stay, filled with many experiences and dining options. One of my favorites was the treepod dining - you definitely have to try this unique experience at the resort! I've never seen anything like that before and dining in a suspended bamboo pod was truly memorable. We really loved the snorkeling trip and the Koh Kood Discovery experience too. When it comes to food, you have a myriad of options to choose from. Being a huge foodie, we tried to experience as many dining options as possible and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! Having dinner at The View at sunset was my absolute favorite and we also really loved the Thai cuisine at Tuk's Kitchen. The staff was another highlight: everyone was really friendly and attentive, and they truly made our stay even more memorable. I really loved that we were always addressed by our names, so it truly felt like being in a home away from home! All in all, I can't recommend this resort enough! Whether you're looking for a honeymoon destination, a romantic getaway, or a family vacation, you have to give this place a try. Trust me, you're going to love it!

Hotel's Favorite
My husband and I came here for our honeymoon last week and could not have been happier with our choice. This resort has it all! Amazing food (seriously, I don't know what our favorite meal was), gorgeous views, comfortable and spacious villas, and the BEST guardian, Fon. Fon was lovely and attended to our every need. We were very impressed by Soneva's emphasis on environmental impact. As a tip, we'd recommend going with the full board meal option. It's worth the expense and eliminates the need to worry about what each meal or drink will cost. It also secured us better locations at the restaurants and remarkable service. The observatory is a must and we can't recommend the cinema enough. There isn't a single negative thing to to say about this resort!

I have passed your comments of praise on to Khun Fon and Khun Cat, comments like these bring big smiles to our hosts. It is good to know that you found that the full board meal plan offers good value and that you enjoyed both the observatory and Cinema Paradise. This's my 2nd times here, all entire experience at Soneva Kiri was unforgettable. Our barefoot, K. Fern is so amazing. She made everything possible for us. The villa was comfortable, super spacious with breathtaking view .All food is fantastic from the daily breakfast to the dinners at the View. I really love North beach but it has already closed then we had to go to South beach instead.

The entire staff was very friendly and responsive. From the BKK airport check in lady, till the bkk airport arrival person. They were very attentive to our requirements and requests, and were able to take care of all of them. The going and coming flights was nice, and did not face any turbulent weather conditions. Check in was a breeze as they had already got our passport info from the airport check in counter. Our luggage was already in the villa by the time we reached after a tour of the property. Our barefoot guardian - Minnie - was super at organising, recommending, planning, follow ups and ensured that we were on time for all our activities :) Getting a personal buggy to go around the island was very convenient and made our life super easy. The marine life around the resort is not that great, but I am sure that it is better nearby where they take you for snorkelling / diving excursions. We were unable to go for diving because of weather conditions which was making the visibility poor. We loved the tree pod dining experience as it was very unique and exciting. We also enjoyed the excursion to the waterfall, swimming in the pond and under the waterfall. The chocolate room and ice cream place were always a favourite with the kids every day. We also enjoyed sailing, kayaking and swimming at south beach. My younger daughter liked the pasta making class that she did with the chef but did not enjoy the Thai dessert making class. The food was brilliant at all the locations - the view - south beach - breakfast place - ess bar and we all indulged in over eating every day :) We took multiple spa treatments (all 4 of us) and enjoyed the location, vibe and the therapy given. We felt that the villas needed a bit of an upgrade and upkeep to cater to the younger gen traveler's likes as newer and similar properties keep coming up in the market worldwide... Over all, had a great family holiday. Thank you to the entire team at Soneva Kiri.

Dear Madhurtodi, Thank you for a very comprehensive review on your family's stay at Soneva Kiri. I have passed your compliments on to both our airport team and Khun Mini, your Barefoot Guardian. I am happy to hear that you enjoyed the Tree Pod dining and that your daughter enjoyed the pasta making class. I do understand that Thai desserts are not for all, luckily the kids enjoyed the ice creams and chocolate room! Our spa therapists are delighted to read that all 4 of you enjoyed your treatments. We have just formed a Youth Council at Soneva to advise us on the likes and dislikes of the younger generation and hopefully by the next time you and your family visit any of the Soneva properties, you will notice some interesting changes specially to cater for the younger generation. Kind regards Karin

I have been to many great resorts but non come close to Soneva Kiri. The staff was incredible, the villa gorgeous and their beach (South Beach) had crystal clear water with a perfectly smooth sand bottom. And their Thai restaurant was in a great location on the water with amazing Thai food.

I’m don’t often write reviews but our stay at Soneva Kiri was so absolutely wonderful I have to. From before we even booked, Dahnushan from reservations was so helpful explaining everything about the resort and what we can do in the area, the layout of the villas. He helped us to make a decision and we ended up staying in a bay view pool villa. Once we booked he helped us to add an extra person when we had a last minute change. We had really bad luck on our way over and had to spend a night in Bangkok and he arranged everything for us and even managed reorganise our stay so we didn’t miss out. The check in at Bangkok is smooth and the airport team friendly and helpful. We got on the little plane and felt on holiday and relaxed.l already. Upon arrival at Mai Si airport we were greeted by our Barefoot Gardian June who was amazing and so helpful throughout our entire stay. The whole team there is welcoming and helpful. The resort itself is beautiful with amazing ly clear water. We cold snorkel right off the south beach or paddle board to Koh raet opposite for some more snorkelling. The food was amazing at all the outlets and the waiters fantastic ( special shout-out to noon and yoshi). The spa was gorgeous and the wellness activities with Rocky fun. Dima assisted with our trips around the island and was adorable. We couldn’t have wished for a better holiday and we’re sad to leave. Although it’s on the pricier side for Thailand, for us it was worth every penny. We will definitely be back! Thank you everyone at Soneva Kiri!

Pros: The staff really make this place wonderful. Felt more like family than anything as interactions between management and staff really demonstrated the culture at the property. All our needs were attended to. The direct flight from the property makes travelling to Koh Kood so easy. The food is a very high standard for island life. Cons: The hotel itself could use some upgrades we stayed in two different villas--the second which we were very happy about.

If you want to experience the country's dynamic nightlife, you should look for somewhere else  such as Phuket. However, if you like to experience a completely relaxed atmosphere surrounded by nature, than I don’t think there's a better place than Soneva Kiri.      The resort is absolutely huge with plenty to explore, and you certainly won't get bored with all the activities, even during low season. We really appreciated the personal buggy to drive around. South beach is, along with Amanpulo beach, one of the few beach in SE Asia that is on the same level as the Maldives, especially during low tide. It’s in a total different league compared to other famous islands in Thailand. We were lucky enough to get 2.5 days out of 4 of sunshine during our stay in rainy season.      Not a single negative thing to say about the hotel’s staffs. From our butler, Kim, to the restaurant and South Beach staffs (unfortunately i don’t know their names), all of them were super friendly without being overly ‘’intrusive’’, just Thai hospitality at its finest. The food here is also spectacular, the fine dining restaurants serve incredibly fresh and flavourful dishes, on par with Michelin-starred restaurants. For budget option you also have the all-day restaurant at the main area, or South Beach for lunch, where you can get more casual style, yet delicious food for about the same price as a cafe in Paris or London. Breakfast is certainly the best one we’ve ever had, and we loved the Asian street buffet as well!      There's nothing bad about our stay that I have to point out. Perhaps the only minor glitch is the outdated weekly program in the Soneva app. You can find a summary of the weekly program such as activities, themed dinners etc. in the SK application, but the hotel keep changing the schedule (probably due to weather). In our case, we had a location change and a schedule change. Luckily our butler did give us the correct information. Please update the weekly program section regularly, otherwise it could become misleading…      All in all, this is a fantastic resort and I can’t wait to return in the not too distant future (hopefully!). IMPORTANT NOTE: The hotel provides charter flights from BKK airport and it’s the fastest way to get there. While I have absolutely no doubt that the flight is perfectly safe, the fact that it’s a small aircraft (Cessna 208B) makes it more sensitive to turbulence / wind shears. If you are an aviation geek like me or you don’t mind, it will be a pleasant flight with magnificent views. However if you have occasional airsickness issues even when flying on commercial jets, which was the case for one of us, I’d highly suggest you to take the ferries instead.

Dear Maxencezh0311, Thank you for taking the time out to write such a detailed review of your recent stay at Soneva Kiri. I am delighted to know that you enjoyed it so much and that your found our hosts offerering "Thai hospitality at its finest" - that is a wonderful compliment that I shared with out team. I have taken note about the weekly program in the weekly app. As we control this ourselves, we have no excuse for not updating the schedule changes due to inclement weather. Thanks for pointing this out. We look forward to welcoming you back to Soneva Kiri soon! Kind regards Karin
