A very nice hotel in the Usambaras. The rooms are kept simple but very clean, because of the cold you get hot water bottles in the evening. The staff is very friendly and always tried to fulfill our wishes. The nature around the hotel is beautiful, an insider tip. Food in the restaurant is okay, there is still some room for improvement. All in all, highly recommended, we'd love to come back.
Lovely location with beautiful views, very relaxing atmosphere, staff very friendly, warm and helpful to accomodate any special requests, good food, comfortable rooms, only problem was that the only other guests were placed in the room directly next to ours and they were quite loud
A fitting name for the hotel. It does feel like you're in Switzerland. Staff is really helpful and food very tasty. We visited with family and totally enjoyed the peaceful environment and lush greenery, especially after coming from the city. We had a very good time and cant wait to visit again.
Nice quiet place but not much to do and a windy, narrow road up from the main road with 4WD needed for the last bit. Good, efficient staff and quite tasty food. I went on the hike to the waterfall with the highlight being the different people we met on the way. Could be improved by putting in a shower curtain, providing a bath mat and hangers and other small details. They only accept cash
We booked this hotel with a company in Kenya and the company was good on their side but the hotel was too far from the town and main highway as we were heading to Arusha with workmates. The hotel is good, Food good too. Its not worth for a night at all.
Simon and the team are extremely attentive and professional. They made sure our short stay was perfect. The rooms were extremely clean, well furnished, and the food was good too. The views from the rooms were incredible.
We went on 25 December for lunch ( the menu has a wide selection even for the veg ) and the place was so wonderful and the owners very friendly that we decided we would come again for dinner same night. They asked us about our preference and when we arrived for dinner. Within few minutes the food arrived and it was wonderful and tasty. The kids had a wonderful time playing around the prices were very very reasonable! Thanks to Patrick nd Sandra , you made our trip really memorable 👍🏻
Located 15 km from Lushoto town itself, the extra piece of road is worth the detour as it allows you to see more rainforest than on your way up to Lushoto where de-forestation is taking its toll. The lodge is beautifully located at the top end of a little agricultural valley. The accommodation is in super clean and very well-maintained cottages. The interior design is not what you would expect nor necessarily desire when travelling in Africa as it is Swiss inspired....but as such very functional. The staff is absolutely fantastic and try to help you in every way they can...and with a big heartfelt smile. Go for one of the cottages with a fireplace...it makes all the difference. The food is rather basic in its preparation but there seems to be a big choice. Overall the place is well worth the price, but it remains surprising to me that one of Tanzania's top 10 tourist hotspots does not have better accommodation to offer (i.e. no real up-scale lodges in Lushoto).…
Located in the Usambara mountains is an excellent place to start your adventure, have a walk around and see the landscape along with your local guide Simon. He took us for a walk uphill to enjoy a magnificent view of the valley. If you can, bring candies for the little children that will come out to greet you on your way. Cheerful and always smiling, they leave a great feeling in your hart. The cabins are cozy, can be a bit cold at night, but provide the perfect excuse to light up the fire in the chimney and enjoy a good wine. Comfortable and spacious, clean and nice, they invite to stay for a few days in it. Make sure your water heater is on, as the water can be really cold when you get in the shower.
I stayed here with my family (2 kids) and some friends also with kids. We found the cottages to be very spacious, beautiful and clean. We had the Sandra cottage, which is huge, the two bedrooms are really big, with a kins size bed and a bunk bed in each, and the beautiful living/dining area in between with a fireplace. While breakfast was OK but not memorable, dinners were amazing. All meat dishes were truly exceptional, especially for Tanzania, and portions very generous. Plenty of space for the kids to run around and explore safely, it was a wonderful adventure for them. We will come back again!
