I never thought I'd be able to stay in such a nice place on my budget, but the backpacker special is really an amazing deal! It includes full board AND Hermon upgraded me to a luxury tent because there weren't many other people there! The work they do with the community is really amazing, and I feel so lucky that...

Mambo View Point is in the very north of the West Usambaras and by far not as well visited as the area around Lushoto. The view from up there and in particular from the viewpoint cliff below the lodge is amazing and on a clear day you can see as far as the Kili. Rooms are simple and agreeable, although...

Great set-up, scenic beauty of Usambara mountains and song of the wind and passing cloud with the chirping birds... one of the best getaways from the hustling and hot DAR..! Its a eco lodge and Herman and Mariom have done a great job with Gys.. Totally fell in love with the place and although the walk to the family room...

If was lovely to return to Mambo View - last time was 7 years ago and Herman and Mariom had only just started. Now the gardens have matured but the ethos of the place and of course the view remains unchanged. It was great to hear that the engagement with the local community has continued - we saw the renovated...

Located on the top of a mountain and on the edge of an 1100 meter cliff, overlooking the plains and seeing Kilimanjaro 160km further away at the horizon, this place has no rivalry. Simply stunningly beautiful. If next to this you like the relaxed atmosphere of mountain huts then this place is meant for you. Though the place has a...

Sitting on top of the cliffs overlooking the Usambara mountains and the plains beneath - this is arguably the most beautiful spot around. The Eco Lodge is fantastic. It is run by a very hospitable Swiss couple & their local staff. We spent just one night here but it wasn't nearly enough. I have great memories of having drinks by...

Stayed for 1 night in November 2016. The luxury tents were a lovely way to feel in touch with nature. Situated right next to the cliff face the view was absolutely spectacular! Loved sitting by the fire reading in the evening and the shared dinner was delicious! Beautiful spot for couples!

On a search for rest, peace and tranquility – we found Mambo Viewpoint. Waking up in a cosy cottage above the clouds, being treated to organic tasty food, feeling so much warmth from the owners, staff who seem to infuse the place with calm and integrity, and from the surrounding Village. I will return to this place regularly and couldn’t...

This is truely an amazing place. The Dutch founders Marion and Herman made this place into a very welcoming and well run place with very friendly and happy staff. Food(buffet) is simple but well prepared and tasty, western style. The lodge has initiated many ecological and social projects in the neighbouring Villages and are supportive to many others. If you...

Amazing view in the Usambara Mountains. Wake up in the morning and enjoy the beautiful sunrise, or relax with a sundowner at your cottage and watch the sunset. You will not find a better view anywhere. Mambo View Point can arrange plenty of exiting excursions. Mambo View Point supports the local villages and children. You have to visit!
