Spent three enjoyable nights at the lodge. We were very well looked after. Food and accommodation were all excellent. We were met from every game drive with a drink and warm face towels. Hot baths run for us when we returned from the evening game drives. The game drives were excellent with our very knowledable ranger Miena. Her affinity with... More

There is nothing bad to say about our stay at bush lodge! If you're looking for a safari, amazing service, brilliant game drives, luxurious accommodation and tasty meals stay here!!!! Our ranger, Miena, was absolutely fantastic. We saw the big 5 up close and personal. The "tent" that you stay in is gorgeous, big comfortable beds, your own pool, separate... More

Only 40 minutes from Port Elizabeth, Bush Lodge was everything we hoped it would be, and more. All staff were friendly and knowledgeable, relaxed yet attentive. Our accommodation was a perfect level of unique. All necessary amenities were in the lodge and thankfully, not a tv in sight. From our own lodge pool we spent several hours watching 'Norman, the... Bush Lodge is a wonderful introduction to safari life! Although essentially a tent, it is luxurious accommodation and includes lovely bed and bedding, roll top bath and even a log burner which was lit all ready for us at the end of one particularly wet day. Meals are well cooked and plentiful and taken in the Lodge itself overlooking a... More

We stayed in one of the thatched tents at Bush Lodge which was very spacious, good facilities and comfortable. As someone has already said, they give an authentic feel of the bush. Obviously as they have canvas sides they are affected by the weather more than a brick built lodge, and we were woken by a heavy storm one night... More

We have just spent 3 nights at this reserve. The Safari was good and we saw the majority of what we were hoping to see. Our guide Jason was very knowledgeable on all the animals and birds. The food was very average. Insufficient food on occasions at lunch time to feed everyone though. The accommodation left a lot to be... More

The entire stay was just marvellous. The very best of it was our crazy, funny ranger - her name is Miena. She loves the animals very much and laughs a lot when she sees them. Miena made the best out of our safaris and we saw a lot of games. The lodge itsself gives you the authetic feeling of being... More

We stayed at Bush Lodge for three nights. We were in Tent 2, which was a beautiful cabin sized tent, with air conditioning (needed!), coffee and tea making supplies, a stand alone tub, plunge pool, outdoor showers, and more. The bedding was lovely and the room was beautifully maintained. There are many properties in Amakhala, and each appears to managed... More

There are many game reserves in South Africa. Finding one with great accommodation, good food, gracious hosts and of course, amazing wildlife is exactly what we wanted and got from the Bush Lodge. We enjoyed two nights at the reserve in a very stylish bush "tent". The food was excellent for every meal. The hosts went out of their way... More
