We had family staying at The Portcullis, and booked a large table for dinner. The Mezze was very good, all the staff were happy and helpful. My Mum was visiting form Cyprus and the staff gave her pleanty of local places to visit. It was a great place to stay, being so close to Castle Coombe, Bath, and the M4,...

However, the frosted glass which separated the bedroom from the shower room left very little to the imagination! Our real problem was the catering. The chef left early and we were offered a bar...

This is a pub first and accommodation second. The bar with its loud games machines and pool tables; rooms were small but clean but toilet door was see- through which is very odd. Only stay here when everything else has gone.

Myself and my wife stayed at the Portcullis in August 2012. The room was newly furnished and very clean. It had en suite, which consisted of a toilet, sink and a wet room style shower. The en suite was very small but the shower area was plentiful. Be warned, the Portcullis is a very lively pub and at weekends is...
