Located just steps away from Cos d’Estournel in what used to be the private home of Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel, La Maison d’Estournel today welcomes guests in search of simple, authentic pleasures. Michel Reybier continues to perpetuate the values and ambitions of the “Maharajah of Saint Estèphe” and his recreation of the architectural ensemble envisioned by the latter—Cos d’Estournel, a palace dedicated to winemaking, and La Maison d’Estournel, a welcoming retreat surrounded by nature is indeed a worthy tribute. True to a philosophy that Louis-Gaspard d’Estournel would have readily embraced, the property offers a most singular experience. Here the traditional hotel approach gives way to an art of living based on the simple pleasures of life. Savor a relaxed moment in front of the fireplace or in the park, enjoy a glass of Cos d’Estournel at the bar of the open kitchen, discover the seasonal delights prepared by our chef or take part in preparing a meal at his side should you so desire. La Maison d’Estournel is an ideal destination for city-dwellers seeking to get away one-on-one or with friends or family. Stay for a weekend or let yourself be tempted to linger on. Inspired by the site’s natural surroundings, English designer Alex Michaelis has created a décor in which time seems to slow down in favor of a more ancient rhythm, and all is calm and as it should be. Surrounded by vines and situated at the heart of a hundred-year-old park, La Maison d’Estournel was conceived in the same spirit of excellence that defines every one of Michel Reybier’s properties. Guests are treated in a down-to-earth, warm fashion in a setting that is both relaxed and refined, where the spirit of country living is truly genuine. Here you will enjoy a unique experience in a singular place, where the pleasures of tasting the wines of the estate are heightened by an exceptional setting.

A very beautiful hotel. The gorgeous manor house has been restored to perfection with the interior design being so close to perfection that it actually is perfect! The staff are really delightful and friendly Very chic whilst remaining so relaxing. So sorry we only had one night here.

We drove along this area, and decided to go to this restaurant for our last night. The hotel is so nice, so comply and staff were so friendly. We had a wonderful time here, the food was good, from the starters. I had chicken breast for main course, best chicken breast I’ve ever had. The portions were more than many others Restuarant. The price were reasonable. I will definitely visit again..

This exciting new property brings to the region a level of design and vineyard chic not previously available. This is both good news, in that I loved it, and sad news, in that it is a definitive move away from the rustic charms of the area. But it's rather small and set up like a country residence rather than an impersonal hotel, which is much appreciated. The design is impeccable, location ideal for chateau visits and the staff both professional and warm. There's a buzz here. The hand of La Reserve is evident. Kudos to Thérèse Saint-Martin for 5 star service.

One of the most exceptional properties I’ve had the pleasure to stay at. From the reservation experience (via email) through check-in, dinner, and breakfast the day after — not a hair out of place! Absolutely stellar service. Also, every part of the hotel was well decorated: the plush library, the luxe dining area and the stunning bedroom (we were at the junior suite on the top level). Guests at La Maison could also arrange a standard tasting at Cos d’Estournel (subject to availability, of course). This is well worth the price you will pay. What also worked well for me and my partner is that we snaked our way up the left bank, and a stay at La Maison allowed us to have a wonderful rest rather than have to drive all the way back to the city. I highly recommend this place, especially for couples and those with a fantasy to stay at an 18th century château amidst the vines.

We decided to try this new restaurant in St Estephe while staying at our holiday home.We enjoyed a 3 course dinner and One glass of local wine at 15 euros .Whilst the starters were quite expensive 18 and 20euros they were excellently presented although my wife did not enjoy the texture of her meal.We both enjoyed our monkfish main and desserts. The staff were very attentive and overall we enjoyed the experience of this refurbished Chateau and will certainly return. For is it is a special occasion venue with total cost of meal etc 150euros .They do a set lunch menu at 29 euros which we look forward to trying.

All our dishes are fresh and home-made, products are coming from local producers and farms. We do our best to offer a top quality food for the best price possible. We look forward to welcoming you very soon for a lunch, and perhaps to change your mind about this severe rating of 2/5. Kind regards Alban Morardet
