Just had 3 nights here in glorious weather. Superb restaurant-with-rooms, pretty garden, lots of car-parking space, on quiet back road into Great Missenden (1 mile). It's in a good area for exploring Buckinghamshire, especially the many National Trust houses nearby. The management is to be congratulated on employing and training such charming staff (friendly, lovely and smiley - nothing was... More

The room was clean and newly decorated with a view over the garden and adjoining fields. Service was excellent - found me a space in the restaurant even though I arrived late and there was an event on that evening which meant the pub was very busy. Great food and local well kept beer. Freshly cooked breakfast served quickly and... More

My daughter and I had booked a twin room for 1 night. Although it was late afternoon, there was no one behind the bar/reception. We eventually were checked in. The staff were polite, and welcoming. We took dinner, which was excellently cooked and presented, but 'light' in portion size and 'heavy' in price! Limited children's choices, even though they promote... More

Found by accident when out on the bike for a ride and glad we did. Lovely garden and really excellent Sunday roast. Plenty of parking although they plan to extend as very popular. Staff were friendly and efficient. Menu looks really good and will definitely be returning

We had a lovely evening meal at this restaurant / pub. I had sea bass with samphire, was really well presented and tasted out of this world. For dessert I had sorbet which was also very good and light. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area. Did notice they have rooms, which I will remember for my next visit.

We stayed here for 2 nights in a double room at he front of the property, authentic character with exposed beams. The room was sunny with lovely outlook, clean and comfortable Tea and coffee making facilities, iron, and hairdryer provided. The bathroom was a good size and had a very long bath with a shower over the bath. The real... More

Gastropub with rooms. What a delightful find. The food was absolutely superb and the pub is within walking distance of Great Missenden and all things Roald Dahl. It's a great place for lovely walks in the Chilterns too. The rooms are good. If you're touchy about noise, ask for one at the back (modern part) as the olde worlde ones... More

We picked the Nags Head for location, small number of rooms and it was a genuine restaurant. The room had great character and all you need. Service with a smile from all the team and it was genuine. We looked for to the evening meal which was superb. Thoroughly recommend for business or pleasure and looking forward to staying again.

Stayed here for a couple of nights over our Son's marriage. Lovely rooms, although one has really low medieval doorways, so watch your head. Ate lunch here twice and both times the food was great. The staff really are happy and friendly which is delightful. Can't recommend the Nags Head strongly enough.
