My husband and I ate here a couple of nights while staying locally in our caravan. The weather was appalling unfortunately for most of our stay, however the restaurant at the hotel was a haven for excellent food, wine and malt whiskeys ( many to choose from and lots of helpful advise from the staff) We arrived with our dog... Clean and comfortable. Unusual to have a shared bathroom these days (knew this when we booked and wasn't too much of an issue) food was ok maybe room for some things like steak pie or fish and chips etc for non fish eaters or plain eaters. Owners and staff friendly and helpfull

Had an overnight stay while doing the NC 500. It is an old hotel but the rooms and the common areas are lovely, it was particularly nice to have a drink in the lounge with the huge selection of books and magazines. My only gripe would be the food, while it tasted nice the vegetarian starter and main both were... More

My wife and I eat here on our recent visit to the area whilst on holiday. Both we and our dog were made to feel welcome. The food was absolutely delicious. We both had the casserole of the day and it was hot and very tasty. My wife enjoyed a half of the local ale and I had a bottle... More

Hotel was reasonable if a little tired. Nice lounge with board games etc but room in need of a little TLC. Shared bathroom was OK with excellent Victorian bath and lots of hot water. Food was reasonable at average price range. No TV in room or Wi fi from 6-9pm means that you are likely to use the friendly bar... More

Good place to stay near Loch Maree with excellent pub room and huge whisky collection! Food was wholesome and tasty. Our double room with large bathroom was at the back of the property and so very quiet. Comfortable bed made for a good night's sleep. The bathroom was ok with bath tub with shower attachment but water was hot. The... More

Didn't stay but had a meal and a few drinks. Food was first class, but as with the rest of the highlands, expensive. The ambiance is workaday and traditional - walkers and climbers arrive with gear and collapse into saggy leather sofas. There is a good range of artisan beers on offer and the usual mind boggling number of single... More

Wow....what a lovely hotel! Warm, welcoming, friendly and accomodating. The bedrooms are wonderful and so too the bathrooms. Linen was of fabulous quality and the beds extremely comfortable. Decor is made so interesting with a fantastic array of photographs on display. Dinner was an absolute treat and food of the highest quality. No TV in bedrooms which was fantastic!! Heard... More

Awesome beds and wifi policy but from the other hand they have problems with card payments because of location. Bathroom could be better now in twin room it was claustrofobic. They have nice bar and huge parking.

This is an 'old-fashioned' hotel with dated decor and facilities. Our room was a good size but somehow we missed the fact that this hotel had no TV anyway on site for guests. Also Wi-fi was purposefully restricted apparently based on a 'quiet' policy throughout the hotel. Our bed was comfortable and we slept well. However our experience in the... More
