First impressions… hmmmm.. little unfriendly but it is a very nice location close to the Cabanas waterfront.. seems a little dated compared to other hotels I’ve stayed at but they have a lot of space and amenities close by..lunch menu limited!
We stayed here for just one night but would have stayed longer! The one-bedroom apartment was lovely and had a terrace that led out onto the communal garden. The kitchen, though small, had everything we would have needed for a longer stay. The complex is just a few minutes on foot from the waterfront, close to a number of restaurants/cafés and bars. There is a shuttle that can take guests across the water to the island, though we didn’t have time to use this service. It is located close to the main town of Tavira (driving distance). The complex seems to have everything for the whole family and yet it was quiet and peaceful. We were able to stay with our dogs for no extra charge and we saw a number of other guests with dogs. We will definitely be back!
Since 2005 staying at Pedras da Rainha, first year with my Border Collie. Prior to check in searched for all the info on having pets, at what the answer was “your pet is our invitee”. Upon arrival you realize you can’t take your pet by the pool at leach, nor the restaurant area, to go to the beach (informed by the admin but…) you have to go to Manta Rota or Fábrica (a good time drive by car). Regulation should be send to costumers with the answer to any pet related questions. Pet owners are not wizards. Even do, with a last minute adapt, turning your stay 180°, Pedras is still a good place to stay, but think twice if you have a best friend to bring along.
Stayed for 5 nights recently, the grounds are beautiful, the pool area very clean with depths from 1 metre to 3 metres and quite large , a nice bar and snack area overlook the pool. Our studio could have done with a lick of paint inside and out, it was basic and needs updating but for what one paid ,you could not expect the Ritz. Its location is excellent , a five minute walk into the main area of Cabanas , it has an excellent supermarket which is well stocked on site.
WE arrived on the 20 June we were very early but thier gave our room , also on departure we stayed until 17.00 at no extra cost . We were looking forward to our holiday as we had been in lockdown for over a year , and portugal was on the amber list ,why I have no idea because we felt safe at all times, Portugal was 79 to 100000 people getting the virus , greater Manchester were up to 500 per 100000 people , and should be on the red list , From the moment I arrived at the hotel , staff were very helpful and freindly they were really a credit to the hotel , the studio room I stayed in was very clean and ok . everything was there for self catering holiday , with a good shower and hot water at all times . but no english programes on the TV One bad point if you have a first floor studio the stairs to get to it are very steep and you have to be careful, The spar shop which was about 50 yards from our appartment , was very good , the small town of Cabanas was about 10 mins walk , we only went to the beach one day as its was very windy but sand and sea were excellant , so we stayed round the pool which was very good , to get to the beach you have to catch a boat which is every 2 minates and is free . We went on the bus to Tavira ( bus stop across the road from hotel) and we were going to go on the train one day which a good 15 Mins from hotel but the trains were on strike the days we wanted to go , Overall we enjoyed every min of our holiday . Many thanks to everybody at the hotel Roy Norton England…
