We've just spent a week at the Anastasia - a stylish family run boutique hotel in a great location by the beach in Karystos. The staff are delightful, friendly and efficient. Little Anastasia, not quite 3 years, has definitely inherited the family hospitality genes: we loved watching her "helping" the team. Breakfasts are plentiful, with something for everyone, and tasty Greek delicacies. Evening meals were excellent. Our top floor room was comfortable and well appointed, with a lovely sea view, and thoughtful touches such as a drying rack and effective shutters & mosquito screens. The hotel is scrupulously clean, with a light and airy feel and pleasing decor. 5 stars from us.
Spacious room with well designed modern bathroom and beautiful decoration!! Hotel is located 10 meters from sea coast, so the view of the sea is really amazing. Furniture in lobby area are piece of art! Pool area is quite and relaxing and the breakfast was really good with variety of local products and recipes!! Staff and the owner of the hotel are very polite and they have been very helpful at all time of our stay. I believe that will be there again next season....
Since we found this hotel we have been every year (except one when hubby had a hip replacement, and of course 2020 when we were not allowed to travel). So with great excitement we set off this June, a little earlier than planned but couldn't wait to arrive. So we arrived to a lovely welcome from George and Theodora. 'our' room was ready for us, we particularly like one room as it is quiet despite being at the side view of the sea which really doesn't bother us. So, it was just as nice as previously. Yet again there had been upgrades to the room and bathroom, and it was all excellent with now hair and shower products. The room was beautifully decorated and as usually exceptionally clean. All areas of the hotel were kept clean, as usual, but this time even more attention with lots of hand gel stations. Gloves to use at breakfast so we could still enjoy the excellent buffet. When it was not so busy (we arrived on their first day of opening this year) we were offered freshly cooked items to order. We will be back yet again. Thank you to Anastasia Senior for her continued help to try to get my Greek back up and running after a long period of living away from Greece! Thanks to all the staff, all friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Theodora who as usual dealt with anything asked of her, including finding out about our return covid tests. Someone who does not seem to get mentioned is Thomas. Thomas is the lovely, friendly genuine man who clean the pool amongst many other duties. He always has a smile and is a delight, AND he keeps the pool spotless. I have never stayed in a hotel where the pool is cleaned daily like it is here, brilliant. Have a good rest of the summer, and we will be in contact in the New Year. Best wishes Jane and Martyn x…
My husband and I visited this hotel for a weekend. The management missed to inform us that the hotel was hosting a christening party (Saturday night) for this particular weekend . The outcome was that we were able to sleep long after midnight because of the live music at the pool area! Furthermore we spend the night listening to babies from nearby rooms crying or better yet screaming. I asked the management to do something especially about the babies screaming…. I have been a mother of 2 girls myself but I never remember myself to walk at hotel corridors at midnight while my poor baby was screaming… Our first time at the hotel will also be the last one although Karystos is a beautiful place to visit if you live in Athens. The rooms and hotel amenities seemed super but who wants to spend a horrible weekend ? We were asked to pay top price 220€ per night for BB although next weekend the prices drop to 130-140€ per night; What a scandalous rip-off!…
Excellent place conveniently situated within walking distance from restaurants but quite. Large clean rooms with sea view. Amazing breakfast. Very polite stuff . A place to relax. Beautiful pool whete you can relax with a coctail in the evening. Dont miss it. Its a must!!!!!
We found the hotel very comfortable and decorated in a light modern design. The pool and bar area were very easy to access. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Bedrooms were large, airy and well furnished in good quality. A large choice of food was available at breakfast and a good choice of drinks in the bar. Nothing was too much trouble and we look forward to returning soon.
Great hotel. Very good service. Perfect place for break as a couple. Nice to have the pool, but even better with beach right opposite / sheltered bay, so perfect for a relaxing swim. Good variety at breakfast and decent selection of Lunch snacks for lounging at the pool. Would definitely stay again, if in the area
First off, let me say I’ve stayed in hotels all over the world and literally had great experiences in almost all. I am not a complainer by nature. This is not a 4 star hotel, the lobby is nice and the pool area is nice, the rooms are akin to my University dorm room. This is a 2.5 star hotel at best. The owner and general manager Is not friendly at all. No customer service skills at all. Can you say uneducated, arrogant old Greek. I pointed out at check in that Bookings. Com had the room at 25 euros less. He says, why didn’t you book it there then? Totally rude. Then he starts yelling at my wife. He then says we’ll go ahead and book it thru them. He then leaves and goes to his office where he takes the price down and returns with a smug look on his face and says, why haven’t you booked it yet. I said because you took the price down A hole. Needless to say, I will never stay here again, I will not recommend this hotel and quite frankly if this is the level of customer service and arrogance here, we all know what happened to the Roman Empire. If He is their future succession plan, they are in trouble. If I could give zero, I would have #Anastasiahotel…
Pricing, value, and 4* rating didn’t match-up. Pricing equivalent to real, luxury 4* hotels in Athens, but Anastasia is more like a 3 or 2.5* hotel. Rooms are bare bones -like a university dormitory, 2 single beds pushed together, minuscule shower with very little water pressure, no tissues or basic toiletries unless you ask for them. The owner’s son George is extremely arrogant. When I called him in person to reserve a room, I thought I would get a better rate than booking on the internet because he knows my family personally and we sent him a dozen customers last year for a family reunion. My husband discovered that on bookings.com the rate George quoted me was higher by a factor of 25 euros per night. When we had the audacity to ask him about this discrepancy upon checking in, he got angry with us and said, “why didn’t you book this hotel online then?” He commanded us to book it online as we stood in the lobby and cancelled our initial reservation. Then he ran into his office and my husband tried booking the room and found that the website was not responding. This was because he was updating the room rates-increasing them as we were trying to book. He came out of his office and coyly said while smirking, “why haven’t you booked your room?” We were onto his game and told him that the website was unresponsive since he was updating his prices. We then had to ask them to honour the initial reservation we made or we would not have a room. The rates went up by 25 euros that afternoon. Afterwards every time we passed by George in the lobby he would not make eye contact with us and barely acknowledge us. The food prepared by his family for breakfast was excellent and the bar staff were very attentive which somewhat eased the terrible customer service provided by George on our initial check in. Next time we will book Airbnb instead of staying at a hotel.…
Very well designed hotel, congrats to the architect. High standards in maintainance and cleaning. One big uncomprehensible flaw : the tiny plastic shower cubicle in a rather generous bathroom. What about a real walk in shower ? Other than that the rooom is generous in size so plenty of place to unpack and move around, good bed, nice balcony with great views. Very attentive staff : they really care giving customers the best experience. Breakfast is ok but not up to the hotel, in my opinion. No fresh fruit juices, not enough fresh fruit, limited eggs. What you get is good, except the juices, but there could be more daily variety. Seems like the hotel is organised for short stays. The surprising part : Greek tourists. I do have Italian bload and I do know how my family behaves in a beach hotel....Now, I'm not drawing any conclusions, but we couldn't not notice first how quite they all were and secondly how dedicated Greek fathers are with their children. One took his daughter to the see and than to the pool, all in such a calm way with so much patience and dedication, waow ! The other surprise : Greek woman. Until now I thought that my Sicilian aunts were the wolrd leaders in constant chatting ! Not true anymore. I was at the pool next to 3 greek woman who managed to talk non stop for over 3 hours. I mean non stop. No pause at all. Not even a bathroom brake. Absolutely fascinating. Can't wait to tell that to my aunts... So happy to have chosen Karystos and Anastasia hotel. Will be back.…
