Sacacomie Lodge is a door to nature. Nestled in the heart of the forest and bordering the Mastigouche wildlife reserve, it overlooks a majestic lake whose shore extends for more than 42 kilometres. In this enchanting site where nature reigns supreme, the log-built blends in harmoniously with the scenery offering amazing hospitality. Rustic outside and welcoming inside!

Excellent friendly service. The hotel is special and the grounds are very well maintained. The originally wanted to cross-country ski which was not possible that day but the staff recommend we shoeshine instead and that was magical. We spent 2 1/2 hours on excellent trails through the forest. Great exercise as well

The Hotel is absolutly amazingly located and the lobby such a cosy nice place that one would love to stay at the lobby all the time. The rooms are big and nice but not really up to date. The bathroom is old fashioned and all the floors are carpeted which is not really the todays hygienic state of art. Nevertheless the food is fantastic and the staff very customer oriented and professional.

This is a winter wonderland. The log cabin style is very charming. The staff is very professional and helpful. The outdoor spa is great, with a spectacular view of the lake. The overall facilities are impeccable. One of our favorite activities is to go snowshoeing on the many trails offered on the premises. Highly recommended....we will be going back next year!

The setting for this hotel is absolutely amazing. The views over the lake are breath taking. The whole ambience of this hotel you have to love. Its set in the woods and nature is the main attraction. All of the activities on offer were well run and had expert guides. We tried the bear ad beaver watching, sadly only the latter showed up but it was really special, watching them from a hide. The electric scooter was fun, scary (I'm a wimp) but exhilarating. Canoeing was good. Plenty more on offer. The hotel lets down its location somewhat. There are a warren of corridors and tbh they could do with more signage as we kept getting lost. The rooms were in need of updating and basic. The bathroom was in dire need of a refit, the shower curtain was stained. Stains on the bedroom ceiling (more of that in a mo) peeling paint around the patio door and poor lighting. No tv which was not a problem for us. Not much in the way of storage but we were happy to live out of our suitcases. The maid only comes in if you hang a sign out which we didn't realise until the second night when we came across it. On our last full day it rained heavily. That night we heard dripping when we went to bed (11pm) and when it didn't stop we put the light back on and saw water dripping through the ceiling in two places. We were offered another room and just took what we needed as we were leaving the next day and it was now 12.30am. When we returned to our room the next morning the bed was sodden from another leak. Apparently three rooms were affected that night. The stains were obviously from previous leaks and we felt that they should have been able to foresee such an issue. The manager who was always so friendly and polite was apologetic and didn't charge us for our two excursions. Would rather not have missed a nights sleep!! The restaurant let the hotel down. A four course meal was included as part of our package but the food wasn't very tasty. The first night we had a delicious soup and the rolls were good but thereafter everything was quite bland and mass catered. Breakfasts were much better with a good selection of hot and cold foods. The indoor pool and outdoor jacuzzis and sauna were enjoyable but make sure you pack flip flops to go to it or you will have to buy them. Be aware that there is a long walk down quite a few steps to go down to the lake/beach area so not suitable for the infirm. Sad really as we so wanted to love the hotel but we were disappointed in the rooms and the food. Not the four star experience we had been looking for. They are closed for a few weeks in the quiet season so I really hope they can improve as it was such a gorgeous place it deserves to offer a five star experience inside as well as out.

I feel a bit mean giving the hotel an average rating as the setting is wonderful and the food and service were good. However, the hotel is very tired in places and your room isn’t serviced during your stay, which we weren’t told about in advance. Which is disappointing especially given the price you pay. It could so easily be excellent but needs some investment and additional staffing which will hopefully come.

We really didn’t want to leave. The location is so beautiful and peaceful, and the staff helpful and friendly. Roger has to be the best concierge we’ve met, and the lovely man at reception wears some great shirts! They both gave us local info, sourced maps for the walks nearby and helped us make the most of our stay. The rooms are comfy and have everything you need. Our standard room had a large balcony which looked out over the lake, which was a wonderful surprise! The food is also excellent, and while it’s clear they are very short staffed right now, we didn’t feel our experience suffered at all. They all work so hard to ensure you have a good time. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, with canoeing, hiking, archery, tomahawk throwing, off-roading and a bear and beaver walk, we have made some amazing memories. Thank you Hotel Sacacomie!

Well the views were totally wonderful as was the walks and all the staff were excellent. And our meals were very nice an excellent Buffett breakfast . The geo spa was nice although some of the pools weren’t open thankfully the hot spa outside was . I didn’t like being ripped off made to buy a pair of flip flops for 9 dollars totally unnecessary and felt it was going against their ethos of natural products .. The rooms were clean but very tired & outdated sadly the shower room wasn’t great very cramped . Seems maybe they to look at what customer sees when they arrive open their eyes to how a paying guest feels ... needs some exterior management.

We were told at the last minute that dinner would only be a buffet service due to staff shortages. You couldn’t use the shower without getting water all over the floor because it pointed towards the door you had to get through and would not move. The views are stunning but we did not find this ‘as advertised’ or value for money

I would never imagine to put a 1 star out of five for this hotel/restaurant!! We arrived with my family, having bought these 3 nights there for the lake view, the lake activities but also the spa, the pool and the great restaurant. When we arrived, the first thing my boy (teenager) wanted was to go to the spa or the pool. Unfortunately, he was not authorized to go to the spa (government thing the personnel said).. ok then.. lets go to the pool! “Sorry pool is closed for the next days”: mmmh then dont sell this on your website, checked immediately online and it was still indicated: pool with a view. They told us the lake was a good alternative.. but it was raining cats and dogs outside!! Then comes the dinner, after driving more than 600 kms I was ready to eat in this well known restaurant. Bad news again.. kitchen is closed, instead we have a “traiteur” which prepared a buffet (allergic alert!). So I gave them my allergic card, when you have so many stars in an hotel you are supposed to be able to answer with a solution. Unfortunately the personnel was rude and told me… “impossible to eat here or in any restaurants in the world” (wrong answer). Result, we called the agency and on the next morning we were gone. Oh and for those who wonder… there is no AC in the rooms, so expect a warm night during summer.

The only reason this hotel gets 1 star as opposed to none is the great view of the lake. When we arrived, we were given a very small room which was not what we had booked. When I complained, I was told that there was no alternative as the hotel was fully booked. After further exchanges we were allocated a room more akin to what we had booked The room was tatty at best with huge damp patches on the ceiling. There is no air conditioning, no television, only one bed side light. We asked for a fridge and they delivered a full sized fridge! When I subsequently asked the receptionist why he’d said the hotel was full and couldn’t therefore allocate us another room, he just shrugged his shoulders, smiled and said that due to lack of staff they couldn’t clean all the rooms that had been vacated that day. There is obviously a staffing problem as the whole place is dirty. We went for lunch as our room was not ready when we checked in and the waitress was extremely unhelpful and rude when I asked for 2 side plates But the final straw was when we went for dinner. The hotel is advertised as 4 star with 25 chefs. We were told that the only option for dinner was a lukewarm buffet that had been brought in as there were no chefs. It was atrocious. We were not given any warning of this, even though we had been asked to book a time for dinner. There’s no other option as the hotel is miles from anywhere. The spa is also totally understaffed and therefore we could not book anything. I wouldn’t recommend visiting this hotel until they have sorted out their staffing issues.
