We have just returned from a very enjoyable stay in Villa Mary, the villa was very well equipped and everything we could have asked for was supplied. The setting was beautiful and very peaceful, the pool area was lovely too. Elena and Elena were fabulous, so helpful and friendly, we could not have asked for more - highly recommend a stay at Monambeles
We have just returned home from staying in Villa cleo at monambelas villas and would highly recommend. We have 3 children aged 9-11 years. The villa was beautiful , spotless and comfortable , spacious and characterful. We enjoyed meeting the cats -ouzo and whiskey - whiskey was very friendly! Ouzo was a scaredy cat but my daughter was determined to give him some love! The pool was gorgeous, we often felt we had the place to ourselves I think you definitely need a car here, you can walk to Sagittarius mini Market but its nearly 2km, nice walk but not with kids in the heat... there are restaurants between the Villas and the mini market- we would recommend acropolis for food and the service - Dennis was a joy! Elena (Both mum and daughter are called Elena) Were really helpful and helped us hire a car (we forgot our driving licences!) And We would highly recommend Greekstones for car hire. The offer to pick us up and drop us off at the airport and allowing us to hold onto the villa until late were all very much appreciated (all day for an additional 50euros) We loved this area driving around the airstrip and exploring the coast wuth its many beaches and popping into argostoli several times to hire a boat , turtles watch, souvineer shop was a highlight. We would highly recommend Monambeles Vills, thankyou Elena and family for having us! 😍…
We have just spent 10 nights in Villa Cleo at Monambeles and couldn't recommend it more. The photos on the website definitely don't do the place justice. The villa itself is very spacious, comfortable and has everything you need. There is a full kitchen, lots of outside space and really good WiFi. The panoramic views from the upstairs terrace are beautiful, from the sea on one side to the countryside and hills on the other. And the best thing about it is the peace and quiet - you feel like you have the whole place to yourself a lot of the time. There are also a couple of friendly cats that pop by from time to time. The location is great too - Ai Helis beach is a 5 minute walk away, plenty of restaurants, bars and a well stocked supermarket are all within an easy 10/15 minute walk and there's a regular bus into Argostoli at the end of the road (about 20 minutes each way). Elena also very kindly picked us up from the airport and arranged our free transfer back. Highly recommend this place - we're already thinking about booking for next year!…
Enjoyed a lovely holiday at Monambeles Villas, we stayed in beautiful villa Elena, very spacious and clean with gorgeous pool & gardens. Fantastic sea views and only 10 minute walk to the beach. The villa had all we needed with a proper kitchen, cooker including an oven, fridge freezer, x2 bathrooms, a large balcony on the 1st floor and a terrace area on the ground floor. The owner Elena could not have done enough for us, even offered to collect us from the airport.
Excellent, I cannot to praise it enough. We were meet at the airport, instantly I felt very welcome and at ease. The Villa “Valentina” very pleasantly surprised us, the photos on the website don't do it justice. It is spacious, well designed and equipped. Every detail well thought out to provide maximum comfort and a homely feel. Immaculately clean with very good snow-white bedding. Another pleasant detail is welcome treat: juice, fruit, water, sweets and wine (one of the best types of local wines). Pool and surroundings are very clean. Elena is very friendly and helpful and warm. She assisted us with car hire, advised on the best places to visit. The local beautiful and sandy beach just 5 min walk We look forward to be back there again.
We’re just ending a lovely 11 days here with a 12 and 13 year old. Fantastic rural location right next to a wonderful sandy beach. The villa is well maintained, cleaned and equipped with a lovely pool. The biggest noise are the cicadas hiding amongst the trees. We’d highly recommend.
Lovely villa. We stayed in the Valentina, overlooking the pool. 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Well equipped. Nice views across to the sea. A 10 minute walk to a handful of tavernas. Might be a bit quiet for some and you do need a car (although there are regular buses to Argostoli), however we loved it. Good communication with the owner Elena throughout the booking process.
So good this was our second holiday in this lovely villa. Great location... peaceful, with a view of the sea & Mount Ainos. The villa is surrounded by vines, olive & lemon trees. The pool is beautiful- spotlessly clean. The detached villa is spacious, well designed & equipped. A welcome basket with wine was waiting as was our first breakfast in the fridge. Fresh linen & a cleaning service every two days by the most helpful & friendly staff & Elena the owner is the best host - nothing is too much trouble. Kephalonia is the greenest of the Greek islands , with Venetian castles, fishing ports & a lively capital that is close at hand. Hire a car & all of this beautiful island is accessible within about one hour drive. If you want a sandy beach ... leave the car & walk 5 minutes to one is the best on the island. We are going back again !…
Beautiful and peaceful location. Excellent for families and close to the beach. Elena was a great host. Only 20 min away from the capital, by car. And beautiful beaches nearby. We had a car and from here most popular places where reachable within an hour. Would stay here again if the opportunity arises.
If you want to stay in a peaceful and comfortable accommodation than Monambeles Villas is the place for you. It is really peaceful. You cannot hear traffic, as there aren’t any near the villas, or other guests. We stayed in one of their villas called Cleo and we were happy with our accommodation. It was very comfortable and it had all the things you will need for a comfortable holiday. The villa we stayed in comprise of a 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 verandas, fully equipped kitchen – cooker, fridge freezer, kettle, microwave, toaster, sandwich maker, coffee maker and enough utensils for 4 people. It also had an iron and iron board. The housekeeping was excellent. A nice lady comes to clean the villa every 2 to 3 days, and she does a really good job. She will do your laundry and even do the washing up. This accommodation, in my opinion, is a very good self-catering 3 star accommodation. The pool is small but clean and it is usually not too busy. You will really need a car, as it is very isolated. However, there are very few taverns within walking distance. Also, a car is essential as there are a lot of beautiful places to go in the Island. However, in high season, it is a good idea to arrange your car rental booking before you arrive in the island to make sure you get the best cars at a good price. The local beach, within walking distance, called Ali Helis, is really nice. It is a small sandy beach, with a bar and good facilities. The hostesses are really friendly and helpful. They gave us a lift from and to the airport, which was really nice. There are two small shops near the village. The nearest one to the villas, called Porto Helis, next to Barbara Studios, is to be avoided as it is outrageous expensive. We went there in the first day of our holiday, just to buy basic groceries, and we were just ripped off! You can go to the other mini market, about 2 minutes by car, near the Acropolis tavern. I think the name is Sagittarius. They have more choices for groceries and it is a lot cheaper. Also, there are two super markets just outside Argostoli, about 25 minutes by car. One of them is Lidl and the other one is a Greek supermarket. The island itself is really beautiful, with pristine beaches. It is not commercialised at all, which for me was a good thing. However, the other side of this is that one can see that not a lot of money has been invested in the infrastructure of the island. For example, the roads are not good at all. A lot of them are not paved, too narrow and there are not a lot of signs to help you to find places. (Make sure you bring a sat nav). Also, toilet paper still cannot be thrown into toilets. However, it is a beautiful place to visit, and I highly recommend staying in Monambeles villas if you are after a good self-catering accommodation.…
